Noel

I woke up this morning way too tired for my own good. Then again, it's not surprising, I'm always like this. I finally roll out of bed and get ready, putting on a new change of clothes and heading to the bathroom to sort out my sleep-deprived appearance.

After styling my hair, I brush my teeth, feeling an ache from the back of my mouth. It began 2 days ago. Shrugging it off, I take a couple of painkillers, hoping that it's nothing serious. I haven't been to the dentist in 7 years and I don't plan on going anytime soon.

A few months back, I moved into a new city. There's a small cafe around the corner of my apartment that I go to almost every morning. Grabbing my keys and purse, I head out the door. The trip doesn't take long and I get in line.

As I glance around, my eyes land on a guy. He's tall and rather attractive. His hair, light chestnut. Accompanied with captivating sea green eyes. My thoughts are disrupted as I realize it's my turn to order. I probably looked like a creep, staring at him.

I end up getting a latte and head towards the stand in the corner, to grab a few napkins. I search around for a bit and find an empty table, sitting down to enjoy my drink.

I must've spaced out for a bit because I finally come to, and realize there's a hand waving in front of my face. I look up to see the same guy from earlier and start blushing from embarrassment.

Oliver

My morning starts off like any other. I start getting ready for my day and decide to check out a cafe nearby. I usually drive past it on my way to work, but I'm off for the weekend, and I wasn't in the mood to make breakfast.

Once I'm there, I order a small cup of coffee as well as a croissant, and look for extra condiments. The place has an airy atmosphere, but my attention is immediately drawn to a girl in line. She's beautiful, brown hair and soft light brown eyes. I make a split decision to find a seat next to her.

The cafe was relatively full and spots were limited, but there happened to be an extra seat at her table. I slowly approached. She seemed zoned out, so I waved my hand in front of her face. That caught her attention and shyly smiled, it was adorable.

"Hey, I was wondering. Is this seat taken or reserved?"

"Oh, no. It's all yours, if you want it." Her voice was soft and calm.

"Okay, thank you."

"Mhm. Do you mind if I ask you something?"

"Ask away."

"Have you been here before? I don't want to seem like a creep, but I'm here constantly and I don't think I've seen you around, not that I would know. I'm not here 24/7. Wow, that was a stupid question, I'm sorry," she chuckled.

Her rambling antics put a smile on my face and her laugh somehow, made me feel light.

"Haha. You're no creep and it's a valid question to ask, so to answer, no. This is my first time. I've been eyeing this place for a while, but have yet found the time to check it out. I was free today and thought, why not?"

"I see," she smiled. "Oh, shoot. I forgot to introduce myself, before I started bombarding you with my questions. Sorry, that was rude. My name's Noel!"

"No worries. I also haven't introduced myself, so we're even. My name's Oliver. Can I ask you a question now?"

"Of course."

"Do you live around here?"

"Yes, I recently moved here on my own a few months ago. I'm still exploring the area, but I've been loving my apartment, it's right around this cafe." She continued sharing for a bit and I learned that she was a graphic design student.
