I recently bought Pokemon SoulSilver, wondering what the exploration of the Johto region was like. Truthfully, I haven't liked Pokemon as long as most fans...as I only got hooked on Pokemon around the time Diamond and Pearl was released. But after finishing Diamond, I bought a used FireRed game, and it was perfect, no glitches or hacks what-so-ever. Then I bought Emerald, also used, and in perfect condition as well. Then I discovered other games, other than Game Boy games and DS games, like Pokemon Channel, and Pokemon Colosseum, and bought them new as well. They worked perfectly as well, and were in great condition (well, except Pokemon Channel; many little dog teeth marks were on the corner, but the disc itself was fine). Overall, I trusted used games.
I was busy with all my other games, that I didn't really pay attention to the HeartGold and SoulSilver ads and commercials. But when I got around the end of each game, I begged to get a SoulSilver game (other than HeartGold, seeing that one of my favorite colors were silver). We decided to buy a used version, low price too. I had to wonder why someone would give up a new game so quickly though, but I shrugged it off. 'Maybe it wasn't their kind of game.'
On all road trips, I took my DS with me so I could play my new games right away. I clicked the game into the slot, and hit the power button. I went through the Game Freak logo and such, until I came to menu screen. They didn't delete their saved game, whoever this person was. But as I looked at the name, I could almost feel my heart stop.
'TURNBACK'
I shook it off, ignoring it. I went straight to 'New Game' and it seemed pretty normal.
I kept playing, and I soon forgot about that other saved file (Except at the point when I forgot to delete the file, and I had to go back and delete it, loosing my other game data I started).
So I've been playing non-stop, and the game was normal. I had nothing to worry about. I leveled up my Totodile and my team, evolving them and capturing Lugia. I went onto the Pokemon League and defeated the Elite Four and Lance. I was suprised to see we could go into Kanto and battle those gyms too.
Once I got to the purple town of Lavender Town, I was pretty surprised.
I remember the eerie feeling of the town. The sky high cemetery. The depression drifting through the still air. The ghosts in the tower.
This is not what I expected.
The music made me feel a little happier. The cemetery was replaced with a Radio Tower. Only a small building was there as a cemetery. And the purple was brighter. I actually smiled upon walking into the small town.
I walked into the houses to talk to the people. I visited the fortune teller. I walked into the cemetery to visit the poor souls of Pokemon. Then finally, I visited the Radio Tower. There was a police officer guarding the elevator. I went up to him, and I couldn't proceed, for security reasons. I mumbled under my breath about how over protective they are, and I was thinking that Team Rocket is gone so there's nothing really to worry about. Since I couldn't continue anyways, I started walking away.
I got to the exit, and right before I was about to walk out, things started acting strange.
