I was carelessly driving around when I found myself starting to get hungry, so I decided to head to one of my favourite Café's that I discovered in Freshman year when I needed to get away from my seemingly perfect life and just be me and not be judged.
I pulled into Maria's Café and noticed only a few cars in the car park, I walked in and was instantly hit with the smell of fresh goods that immediately made me feel relaxed.
"Hey girly" a feminine voice called out.
I walked up to the counter and was greeted by Maria the owner.
"Hey Ria, how you been?" I asked, my mood already brightening.
"Me? I'm good, what about you? I haven't seen you here in a while." She replies as she wipes her hands on her apron then pulls me in for a much need hug.
"I suppose I could be better, I know It's just been busy crazy." I answered as I hugged her back with as much force as I possibly could.
"Oh honey, go sit in your regular spot and I'll have someone over with your usual and you can tell me all about it."
Before I could reply she had already disappeared into the back, I let out a chuckle as I made my to the booth. Most of the people who come in are regulars and know that I have been sitting in my booth for as long as I could remember.
I am immediately greeted with a beautiful view of a Lake I use to go to every Sunday with my family, before my parents decided they didn't want to waste their time spending it with their family and would use it to work 24/7.
"Beautiful isn't it?"A voice rang out surprising me causing my fist to come in contact with something hard as I hear a sickening crack echo through the café.
"Oh shit, damn rocky didn't mean to scare you."
I turned around a was faced with the most beautiful green eyes I had ever seen. I moved my gaze down and saw a boy who looked around my age holding his nose with my order of a double bacon burger with cheesy fries sagely on the table but my beloved chocolate fudge milkshake down the boys clothes.
"Oh thank you God for my foods safety." I praised as I started looking at my burger and stroking the shiny bun.
"Um,Are you mentally challenged? Do you not see me covered in a milkshake that looks like someone took a shit on me and a broken nose!" The boy carried on obviously wanting some sort of apology for his mistake.
"Oh please your nose couldn't possibly be broken." I disagreed as I started to taste those little sticks of heaven.
" hello? I'm pretty sure I heard a crack which means my nose is broken!"
"I don't see any swelling or redness starting to form which indicates a broken nose, let me have a look." I offer as I reluctantly put down those potato's of cheesy goodness.
"Wait what? You don't know what you're doing you could mess up my face!" He tried swatting my hands away as I moved closer to inspect his nose.
"It's fine I've done this before and like I could mess up your face anymore than it already is." I chuckle at my comeback 5th graders probably use.
"Okay on the count of three; one, two-"
SNAP
"SHIT BALLS ON A PLATE SERVED WITH A SIDE OF FÛCK! What in the actual Hell, you said on the count of three!" I can hardly hear him because of his hand in the way.
"See all good, It should start getting better within 3 days and be fully healed within 3 weeks." I explain and go back to my one true love.
"How can you possibly know that? You look a little to young to be a doctor. And you still haven't apologised."
"Well that's a bit rude and that's actually ageism, Why do I need to apologise for you scaring me, if anyone's to blame it's you green eyes."
"Me? You've got some ner- wait green eyes, I'll have you know my names Will."
"Yeah okay did ask for your life story buddy, just get me a new shake and you can go about scaring other people." I huff out, already starting to become hangry.
"Aren't you going to tell me your name?" The boy also known as Will replied.
"It's none of your business, now jog on."
"Well hello none of your business, nice to meet you." Will counters as he raises his left hand.
"Ew, talk about dad joke." I reply
Will let's out a big grin and replies "we'll you gotta love dad jokes gorgeous."
"Gorgeous?"
"Oh shut up you know you are." He replies as he blushes and walks away.
I stare after him with a slight smile on my face then go back to the cheesy goodness.
"Come to mamma."
