Months passed and Seoul longed for his brother and dry land. He missed Basil very much and wished he had some kind of company.
The boy fed him everyday but didn't pet him much or pay much attention to him.
Seoul sighed and jumped up onto a crate. He could see the sea from here and he normally sat here. He watched the waves and wondered what kind of creatures lived in the wild ocean.
Something in the distance caught Seoul's eye. He realized soon that what he was seeing was land! "At last!" He cried happily. He flicked his tail, excited. "I wonder what that land is like!" He meowed enthusiastically.
Once the ship pulled into the docks, Seoul didn't hesitate to jump off the boat. He purred as he looked around. The city they were at was indeed very busy.
Seoul loved it the very second he saw it. There were horses pulling wagons and carriages. Humans were walking here and there. Everyone in the city seemed to be happy about something.
Some buildings in the city were damaged badly however and Seoul wondered what had happened to them. He padded towards one of the streets and began to cross it.
In all the excitement he didn't notice the horse and carriage hurtling towards him. Seoul gasped in shock as something shoved him off the street.
A small grey and white cat with silvery eyes glared at the young bengal cat. "Have you no sense? Your lucky I was there to save you!" The cat said sternly, then she turned and walked away.
Seoul hurried after her, confused about what had just happened. "Wait! Tell the name of this place, and maybe where to get food?" He asked the cat. She turned, pity shining in her eyes. "Don't you know? This is New York City in America. And..come with me I can ask Boston if you could stay with our friends."
Seoul had so many questions but simply nodded and followed her. "Excuse me but, what's your name miss?" He asked politely.
She smiled and said, "I'm Cecily. Where are you from?" Then Cecily turned down an alley.
Seoul meowed, "Nice to meet you Cecily! I'm from Britain." Cecily turned to look at him, interest shining in her silvery eyes. "What's it like to have all of those Red Coats running around?"
Seoul was confused, "Red..Coats?" He asked. Cecily laughed, "Sorry, it's what the humans call British soldiers, now tell me how you got to America."
Seoul sighed, "Very long, embarrassing story." Cecily began to walk again and said, "oh. Well we're almost to the barn where me and my friends stay."
Cecily turned again and then Seoul could see the barn that Cecily had been talking about. He smiled in wonder at the building.
Cecily slipped through a hole in the wall of the barn and Seoul nervously followed. He wondered what awaited him inside the barn.
