When I was born, I had beautiful golden hair that was as soft as silk and skin as white as milk. My peach rouged lips were as tiny as a little button. I had deep green focused eyes. My turquoise tail felt as scaly as a lizard's Back.

My father saw my future. He ordered for me to be taken away. Far away. To my mother, who was a human and who just happened to live on the surface. My dad was a merman. The greatest merman I had ever known. My mother was called Athena and my dad was called King Jackson of The kingdom Of Oceania under the murky depths of the sea surface. It was my paradise. My home that I was about to leave for what I thought was forever. Everything happened so fast I didn't know what to think. I was only 5 shells ( 5 years) old.

In the dead of night, my maid Hattie grabbed me out of my bed in panic and shoved me in a basket and swam as fast as she could. My fins were flapping all in her face and she tried her best to ignore it. I screamed and cried and I was thrown up to the surface by Hattie.

I floated out of my basket and in that split second felt satisfaction, pleasure and desire in many ways imaginable. I plummeted back down into the basket before my mother caught me with her soothing hands. She whispered something. I could not quite work out what it was but at least I was safe. But I was filled with regret and sadness for letting Hattie take me away. But I would return one day.
