On most days like this, (name) be relaxing at a cafe, reading a book. Or maybe sitting on a bench, trying to enjoy the scenery. But today, it was different. She was currently running from the Survey Corps, who were tracking her down in search of finding out what you were. It seems they somehow were given information that (name) was Ghoul with a Winged Rinkaku, and were able to shoot out of her kagene in the form of glass shards, for long or short distance attacks. (name) had been able to keep herself in the shadows for a long time, but now that they were on to her, no, chasing her, her secrecy was foiled and tossed away. (name) wondered on how they had been able to find you, but for right now, she needed to run.

"There she is! Hurry and get her!" A soldier yelled in the nearby distance yelled, causing more attention to be turned on the girl. (name) didn't want to use her kagene and fly, as they would surely spot her, so she took to running in the street, hoping the darkness would hide her.

"Troops, split up and corner her! We can't lose her now!" (name) heard a man with a deeper voice shout. She assumed he was one of the leaders.

She was getting tired, and the fact that she hadn't fed made her feel a bit weaker than she usually did. As the men on their gears were getting closer and closer, she bolted into the next corner of the street where she was running, and ending up at a dead end of an alleyway.

"Shit..." (name) muttered in frustration when in just a flash, she was surrounded by the Survey Corps. They were on roofs, around the walls of the alley, and soon in front of her. She had ran out of options, and was now considering the last one.

"You are (Name) (Last Name) right? My name is Erwin Smith." He said with a smile, which made a shiver run down (name)'s spine. She recognized the voice, and put a face to it .

"You are the girl with the special powers, correct? Where you can shoot shards out of your back?" (name) didn't answer; She only looked at him and was trying to think of a way to get out of this situation.

"We aren't here to hurt you." (name) almost scoffed.

"Yeah, sure." She spat out in sarcasm, still holding her guard, ready to move at any moment.

"Let me get right to the point. I am simply asking you one question, (Name). I want you to join the Survey Corps, and help save humanity." That statement was definitely something (name) was not expecting. "If you join the Survey Corps, the Military Police will forget about you and we will move on like nothing happened. However, if you refuse, we will hunt you down and put you under research and compose experiments on what and who exactly you are. The choice is yours." He taunted, while inserting unpleasant memories and flashes into her brain. Usually, something like this would've scared (name) stiff as a kid but, she has grown and became stronger.

"So the reason you chased me down, was to join your stupid club? For the sake of humanity? Whatta bunch of bullshit." (name) stood her ground, and slowly against the wall, she stood tall. She gritted your teeth, and she could feel the (Eye Color) iris and pupil turn a deep blood red, and the sclera turn the darkest black. Her red, black and purple kagene flew out of her back, and became giant wings that lit up the alleyway. They vibrated like fire, the colors dancing around each other violently as she became more intune to her emotions.

(Name) raised her head for her eyes to clash with Erwin's, before she spoke.

"I'm not interested." With that, (name) shot up into the sky, and landed on the roof, shooting shards of your kagene into the soldiers, and injuring them enough to make an escape without them using their gear to prevent her from leaving. She glared at Erwin, who was glaring at her, and she jumped off the roof, and into the darkness.

Xx

(name) was currently hiding in a dark alley that hide most of her. She managed to get away, but she knew that they would find her soon enough. Unfortunately, the Survey Corps were searching high and low for (name), and she knew she would need a plan. On top of that, the last thing she wanted to see was the icy blue eyes of that man, Erwin. They were so intimidating yet gentle. It made (name) sick to her stomach. And the worst part of her night was that getting hungry, with a growing urge to rip someone apart. (name) would have to be able to curb the craving, but it was only a matter of time until she loses it and goes berserk.

A couple of quiet hours went by, and the cost was finally clear. Erwin must have ordered them home for the day, as it seems like they have retreated, but (name) had a feeling that they would be coming back. Although, what Erwin had said concerned her. Joining the Survey Corps is extreme, and most people who join always end up dead. (name) wanted to live for as long as she could, but something about it kept eating away at her. Something exciting and full of adrenaline made her chest ache, causing her to take a deep breath to suck it down. (name) sat in that dark alleyway, and began to ponder many things.

The world was a cruel, and unforgiving place. A place that she definitely did not belong in, and she still could not understand why she was in it in the first place. (name) had spent most of her life running, and it was always from people who wanted to learn more about her species, and it didn't matter how they would learn it. Either it consisted with testing, research; it was all the same to her. It was all pain and torment, and she did not desire to be apart of it. When (name) was young, she declared that the world was a cruel and unforgiving character, and she learned that the world will always be corrupted and horrible, no matter how much you try and fix it.

But, with that side of (name), there was always a part of her that adored the world she was forced to live in. The things she liked was nature itself, and the different colors and atmospheres made the world more tolerable. The humans themselves were also interesting characters to (name). Some were awful people, as they would steal or hurt others. But most were kind, and caring to each other. It was either siblings taking care of their siblings, or parents working hard to provide for their families. It was always a characteristic that (name) never quite understood, as she had never experienced that with her family.

(name)'s family was an abusive one that trained (name) to kill on target, no matter the size or age. Her father was a brutal and savage person, who was a Binge Eater, always on the hunt for humans and to have more power. (name) learned how to fight and defend herself from her evil father, as she mostly had to protect herself from him. Her mother was a spineless woman who followed her father, and let him cause havoc among the humans. (name) would be beaten senseless when she refused to kill someone, one time almost to death. It was suffering among suffering, and it finally ended when (name) snapped, killing her mother and father. She managed to tap into this hidden power that she had stored inside, and put an end to her misery. She quickly fled from her parents, and managed to sneak into Wall Maria, where she went into hiding. The news of her whereabouts being known to the Survey Corps served as a mystery to her, as it should've been impossible for anyone to find her.

But something (name) wanted more than anything in the world was to feel loved, and experience that feeling that someone actually cared for her, and as much as she didn't want to admit it, it was here in this world of the humans. Although she wouldn't admit it, that's all she ever wanted. And now with this sudden request to join the Survey Corps to save humanity, it made her feel nauseous that she actually wanted to do it.

So, she decided from there that she would join the Survey Corps. Not to save humanity, but to see the world of the humans, and why they fight when it would be so much easier to just give up.

She gazed up at the full moon in the cold sky, and saw how it brightened up the black sky filled with stars. She took a deep breath of the cool air, and felt a swift feeling of nostalgia; it was there as quickly as it appeared.
