My Friend was dying....

Blood was everywhere. When I came from back behind the counter he seemed to be bathed in blood and that, thing was still on him just tearing away at his neck. It must've heard me cocked the double barrel shotgun that was stored under the bar counter because, it's ears twitched back and it stood up. It was, *Cough* Female. The thing was taller than me which I stood at 6 foot. It was so, oddly formed. It was like someone had given a wolf the mind of a human and it evolved and stood up on two hind legs and had arms like a human except for fingers it had claws and it did something that no such wolf creature should be able to do. It spoke.

It said "I have finally found you Thomas, we will now be together forever".

It smiled, which just made me so scared the gun just seemed to slip right out from my hands. The gun went off but, I didn't care though, this thing knew my name. It seemed to crouch down and get ready to pounce on me. I just stood still as if frozen in time. It leaped faster than human eye perceivable but, mid leap it slowed down and stopped. My alarm clock sound slowly faded in to sound. The rhythmic beep going and going. Suddenly I was back in my room with my body covered in sweat. I didn't want to go back to that reoccurring dream so I woke myself up.

I live in an apartment above a speakeasy in Boston with my cousin Layla, Ly (pronounced lie) for short. We work in the speakeasy all night then we sleep in our apartment all day. It was pretty tiring. But, anyway I needed to get dressed, my job was starting soon. I put on my work clothes just a pair of jeans and a denim shirt. That's all my boss wants us to wear when we work. She wants it to look more like and oldish modern style in the bar. I had to comb my hair because, I liked to keep it a little long but, short enough that I don't look odd if I don't comb. I took a look at myself in the mirror. My eyes were grey so a lot of people usually stared at me because, of them. Most would be fascinated by them. They'd ask if I could see colors and such. I would reply with the usual "If I couldn't see how could I make you a drink?". They would usually glare at me and not ask anymore questions about my eyes.

I smelt the breakfast cooking in our kitchen so I got a quick shower then hurried to the kitchen to see Ly cooking some bacon and eggs. She knew how to cook the best eggs ever, she wouldn't tell me the recipe because, she said that only the women in our family were allowed to know it. It annoyed the hell out of me.

I sat down at the table just as she finished cooking everything and brought over two plates of food for us. I quickly grabbed the hot sauce that we would always keep at our table for almost every meal. It was also, a family recipe but, I knew how to make it. I doused my meal in a little hot sauce, not enough to flood the food but, just enough to taste it.

"Will you ever tell me the eggs recipe Ly?" I asked.

"Will you ever get a good haircut?" She retorted.

"My hair has nothing to do with our famous family recipe Ly, why won't you just tell me it?" I demanded.

"Finish eating or we are going to be late you slowpoke". Ly stated.

I looked down at my watch and did see that the time was getting pretty late. It was almost close to starting time. Which was around 5 p.m. because, our boss only wanted late nighters to come into the speakeasy. It was a really simple job in all honesty. All I did was serve drinks and snacks from behind the bar. Ly did all the serving to the tables and stuff. We also have my friend Jacob he helps with serving around the tables. It was a really fun job in all honesty because, I loved to see the new kinds of people walk in to the bar and making new friends.

Ly and I finish up breakfast and head down stair to the bar. I quick help her setup the tables for serving today, when Ly says that she feels sick to her stomach which was odd because, we only had our late night breakfast. Maybe she just caught a stomach bug or something. She went back up stairs to get some more rest and she said she would have to take the night off. Right when she left that is when Jacob showed up. He was wearing his usual flat bill hat with our uniform. I always thought that he looked stupid with it on.

"Hey Grey what's up?" Jacob asked.

I replied "Nothing except that Ly is feeling a little under the weather today so she walked upstairs and is gonna rest up and take the night off".

Jacob gave me the nickname 'Grey' when I started to work here because, of my eyes and how they always seemed to fascinate him. I could always catch him staring at my eyes as if I was some sort of monster to him.

"Aww man that sucks. This means we both are gonna need to cover for her." Jacob groaned.

"It's ok Jake we can cover for her. We've done it before you know." I said.

"Yea I know we have but, whenever she gets sick we always get way too many people in the bar" Jacob replied.

"Hey man as long as we get a lot of business that means more money for us" I explained.

"I guess you are right, well here is the first customer" Jacob said.

A woman walked in and sat down at one end of the bar. She was wearing a sweatshirt jacket with a ball cap and some torn denim jeans trying to match a more modern west style.

I walked over to him and said "What would ya like ma'am?".

She replied with "I would like the Werewolves Ale"

I was surprised. That was one of the drinks that are on our secret menu. Even then some of the people that know about it don't even order it because, they say it brings misfortune and bad luck. It was also, a really really strong liquor and I didn't know if she could handle it.

I said to her "One Werewolves Ale coming right up".

I had to walk to the back room to find the right ingredients for it because, since little to no-one ordered it we just keep some of the ingredients in the back. When I walked out I saw something terrible.
