"take my whole life too." liberty sang, occasionally using her broom as a microphone, as she cleaned her quaint little apartment.
the record player was going and she had the window open. a typical day is how she would describe it.
except today was different.
the next door neighbour was planning on introducing himself to his neighbor that he's never seen. hoping to get to know her, because he's been living next to her for a year.
right now though, his buddy jaeden was giving him a little pep talk, trying to help calm wyatt's nerves.
"breath dude. you look a little purple." wise words from a weaboo.
"it's easy as not looks as." wyatt told jaeden, but then furrowed his eyebrows as he realized what he said made no sense.
"i think you need professional help." jaeden looked concerned.
"what? why?" wyatt panicked, his confidence was starting to drain the more he talked to jaeden.
"you're suffering from stupidity." jaeden laughed at his own joke, while wyatt just glared.
"ha ha, very funny. at least i'm not as stupid as you look." it was wyatt's turn to laugh, and jaeden's turn to glare.
"take my whole life too!" was faintly sang by someone that was neither jaeden or wyatt.
they looked at each other confused and then looked towards all the places it could be coming from.
"i think it's your next door neighbour." jaeden suggested while looking in that direction.
"that can't be it. she never makes noise, why would she decide to make noise now?" wyatt explained.
"well, nows your chance to go talk to her."
"what do i say?" that's a no brainer, but obviously it was complicated for wyatt.
"tell her to turn it down." jaeden said as if it was obvious.
"oh. okay. well, i guess i'll do it now."
"go get 'er tiger." jaeden snickered, and wyatt scowled at him.
liberty looked at her painting trying to figure out what was missing. but then she heard a faint knock and a clear of a throat.
her throat went dry and she gulped. abby didn't say anything about coming over.
slowly, she got up and walked over to the door. looking through the peephole, she noticed a boy standing there.
her hands became clammy and shaky as she reached for the doorknob.
the door opened and wyatt looked up at her. besides the fact that she had some paint on her face, she looked absolutely stunning.
it was his turn to be nervous now. liberty decided to speak first, seeing as how he wasn't saying anything.
"hu-hello. What c-cuh-can i help you w-with?" she mentally cringed as she stuttered. absolutely worst timing to stutter.
"what? oh! yeah. um, i was wondering if you could maybe quiet down a little. my friend and i could hear you." he mentally facepalmed as he babbled. absolutely worst time to babble.
"oh, i-yeah, i can do that. sorry about that." she felt absolutely embarrassed. she thought that he hated her for sure.
they both awkwardly stood there for a few seconds, neither saying anything. liberty decided to start closing the door, but wyatt put his hand out.
"wait!" he uttered.
she stared at him with wide eyes, wondering what he was going to say. he looked at her and forgot what he was going to say.
he forgot what he was doing. all thoughts left his mind except for the one of her face. he tried to remember, and then took his hand away from the door.
he cleared his throat for what seemed like the tenth time in the past minute and opened his mouth.
"i, uh, why do-how come i never see you?" he muttered with a sheepish expression on his face.
blinking and narrowing her eyes, liberty tried to think of something to say.
"i don't know, how come?" she fired back.
"that's why i was asking you! cause i don't know." he reasoned.
"well, maybe that's good because you seem to like to butt into people's personal business." she glared, getting very impatient.
wyatt was dumbfounded at what she said. he thought it was just an innocent question, but apparently it was very sensitive.
"i'm sor-"
"goodbye." and she slammed the door shut.
