"I'm sorry, but we aren't working anymore. The only thing that kept us together was the babies. You've been so distant from me too"

I dialed his number. Honestly, I don't know why I felt so nervous.
The phone rang a few times and a groggy yet, drowsy Alex answered, "Hello"
"Hey, sorry for waking you! I kind of need a favor to ask you?"
"Hey Lisa!! Sure what's up?"
"Do you mind picking me up from Dillon's house? Bring your Range Rover for I can take my things if you can"
"Wait, Your things? What happened?????"
"We broke up!" I said shedding a tear.
"I'm sorry! I'm on my way okay. Don't cry princess. I'll be there in 30 minutes"
"Thank you Alex!"
"No problem"
I continued packing my things.
Alex pulled up and helped me put the things in his car.
Dillon stopped in my tracks as I was putting the last box in. He wrapped his hands around my waist and gave me the biggest hug. He put a strand of my hair behind my ear and whispered, "I'll always love you, but I can't take you away from him"
"Wait, who are you talking about Dillon?"
"Your heart knows who I'm talking about" he let go of me and walked into his house.
Alex grabbed my hand, "Hey, you ready?"
"I guess I am"
I got into Alex's car and sat there in silence.
"Hey, I'm sorry about the loss of the babies" he said patting my thigh with one hand as the other was on the wheel.
