I awoke to the touch of silk in between my fingers. I was growing tired of the feeling of waking up in strange places. The room was accented in gold and crimson silk. Velvet colored curtains cascading around massive clear glass windows bound by more gold. White marble pillars near the door of the room accented nicely against the red and gold colors. A well furnished wooden dresser stood near the bed and a bowl with a pitcher of water made of clear crystal rested on the table. My mind was foggy from everything that had happened in the last twenty four hours. I was completely unfamiliar with the room I was in, and I was dressed in a black silk night gown.
I hadn't remembered getting undressed and into the gown. Although the color of it contrasted well with the bed and the accents of the room. My body was still stiff and a heavy weight seemed to press down on my shoulders. I felt strained and uncomfortable being here. My hair hung in loose curls at my shoulders, and not in the usual pony tail I kept it in. I didn't know if it was safe to move or not.

I stood getting out of bed and deciding to look around the room. A set of double doors opened inward to reveal more white marble flooring and a largely decorative bathroom. It was also accented in gold with hints of porcelain tiles and touches of red. The hairs at the back of my neck stood and turned around quickly. A man stood leaning against one of the pillars inside the room.

"Like it?" He asked. I blinked bewildered on what he could mean. "This room is yours now." He spoke gently. I tensed at the room which was richly decorated. It made my own room look like broom closet. "Um, that's extremely generous of you." I squeaked out. I still didn't know who this man was.

"Of course, nothing but the best for my new pet." He stated with a mild chuckle. Pet? I grit my teeth in the manner that he had said that. I didn't feel like arguing since I had no idea where I was. "If you need anything at all, just ask for it." He moved forward swooping me into his arms. "It will be given to you." He stated charmingly. I blushed.

His eyes were the color of honey. His touch was gentle, and his voice soft. I didn't know why I was suddenly being bathed in riches. I didn't recall having wished to be whisked away into some sort of distorted fairytale. "Could I ask who you are?" I mumbled a little uncomfortably of finding myself in the arms of a complete stranger.

"Of course, My name is Mathias." He bowed like a gentleman and kissed my hand. I just stared at how well mannered he was and didn't say anything. Everything was still too fuzzy. "Could I ask for a change of clothes?" I mumbled and he blinked and moved toward the wardrobe in the room and opened it revealing several sets of different clothing. Most of it was stuff I could never afford or dream of having.

"These are your clothes, you can chose what you wish to wear. When your ready one of the maids will show you to the dining hall where I'll be waiting for you to join me for breakfast." He said curtly and left the room.

The massive room doors closed behind him, I felt like I was in a the Disney movie Beauty and The Beast. Except my generous host looked nothing like a ugly cursed monster, looking to keep me (who was plainer than plain) as a captive princess to break his spell. I dug through the wardrobe looking for jeans or a T-shirt anything causal but kept coming up with dresses, skirts, elegant blouses, and gowns. I half expected the wardrobe to come to life and start singing opera songs to me while it helped me choose my outfit. That would have made this scenario easier to digest.

I settled for a plain black skirt and a simplistic white blouse. I didn't want to wear anything extravagant, and personally I felt odd with this choice of outfit either way. I wasn't a skirt kind of gal. I liked ripped jeans and muddy sneakers, over grown hoodies and t-shirts. Looking like a lady was uncomfortable, I didn't feel like myself. I folded the black night gown and set it down on one of the luxurious chairs in the room. Careful not to damage the gown and moved toward the door barefoot. I didn't have any shoes, and I wasn't about to kill myself attempting heels for the first time. I grabbed the knob of the massive doors and pulled it open. Just as Mathias had said before leaving there was a maid waiting attentively outside my door.
