Destruction was all around, no matter where you look there were children. Children screaming as they discovered their friends lying lifeless on the roof of a flipped school bus. Smoke covered everything, making it impossible to make out a clear visual of where everyone was at. What had turned out to be a normal ride to school went into something much worse. All because 1 Semi-truck couldn't wait for a red light to turn green. I looked trying to find my little sister but no use. I felt dizzy and I couldn't move my wrist. I started to lose consciousness and that's all I remember...

Chapter 1: In the beginning or something like that.

(Holidays pov.)

It was my 16th birthday and I had been at home in my tiny New york apartment room. Where I lived with my younger (half) sister, Hadley, my mom, and my step-dad.

I never knew my real dad. Nor, before Hadley I was an only child. Or so I thought... I was home alone, it was a Tuesday, and I had been home for what I thought was 5 minutes. Although my clock and millions of paper drawings of flowers attempts for my art project later said otherwise. I looked up from my desk as I uttered "Ugh!" and erased another drawing. My long black hair was pulled back in a ponytail. My blue eyes stared back at me with frustration.

My room was small, but I made it work, all the walls were teal. My bed sat on the opposite wall of my desk, which was near the door, my bed sat lonely because I hadn't slept on it for days. I had been having trouble sleeping, so I'd go sleep on the couch where I would always fall asleep as soon as my head hit the pillow. My bed had a black bedspread with paint splatters all over the comforter. My room was trashed with clothes still on the hangers sprung out all over the white carpet. My shoes everywhere and my pants all over the floor as well.

On the dresser tons of my snow globes were arranged by year. I had gotten one for every birthday the first three were from my dad. I stopped getting them from him. I didn't know who he was, but I don't remember anything about him. I look nothing like my mom. She had short blonde hair green eyes and is not completely white as a ghost.

On the wall next to the door there was a shoe rack with one black sneaker laid on the rack. On the desk, there were more attempts at this drawing laid all over the desk. I turned around and stared at the clock on the desk. The time read 4:05 pm in bright green numbers. I turned around in my blue rolly chair.

"What? How can it be an hour already? I thought I had more time!" I exclaimed

I hurried to get a coat and shoes on. Running throughout the apartment towards the door. I grabbed the doorknob after unlocking the lock. I got ready to open it, when it opened. What was revealed behind the door was a little girl, my sister Hadley.

She was 5 and much more mature for her age. She had black hair like me, which was being held up in pigtails. She had on a purple backpack and had on a brown coat and was wearing a blue shirt with black leggings and black sneakers.

"Oh, Hadley you scared me! I was just about to get you." I said trying hiding the fact that I completely forgot.

"You just now were coming to get me?" She said storming into the apartment. " I waited at the bus stop forever!" Hadley raged.

"Ok fine you got me, I forgot! But honest I was coming to get you I was!" I apologized. "You're not going to tell mom are you?"

"I don't know yet." Hadley sighed while opening the fridge. "It's been a long day. I need a juice box."

Hadley went to the fridge grabbed an apple juice box and a straw, then sat down on the couch. I took off my coat and shoes, then I sat down on the couch next to Hadley. A million thoughts raced through my mind as I imagined all the situations my mom could react. It was my first day of school, and it was my responsibility to make sure Hadley got home safe. And for that I would have to hear my mom talk about how irresponsible I am.
