MatPat

It was the twenty-first of December. Me and Stef were at an orphanage looking for A child to adopt. We were going around meeting children in there rooms. None of them were right, until we stepped into this girls room. Her walls were covered with drawings and Nintendo posters. We looked at the girl. She had short brown hair covered with a Santa hat and was sitting at her desk drawing a kitten in a Santa hat. It looked just like Skip.

"I like your drawing." I told her

"Oh, thanks." She responded. She looked up at us.

"Can I ask you some questions?" I asked.

"Sure, ask away."

"What's your name?"

"Nicole, what's yours?"

"Matthew, and this is my wife, Stephanie." I said, gesturing to Stephanie.

"Hi Matthew. Hi Stephanie." She said.

"How old are you?"

"Twelve! I'll turn thirteen in may."

"What do you like?"

"Nintendo, and video games, and drawing, and math! Oh, and cats." She said excitedly.

"How would you like to become our daughter?" Her eyes lit up.

"I would love that!"

"Great, then lets go talk to the owner about that." I told her.

We went to talk to the owner, who was a nice old lady.

"All you have to do is sign this paperwork, then you can pick her up tomorrow.

"Great!" We signed the paperwork.

"I've never really had a family before." Nicole told me as we left.

"Well, now you have us." I told her. Only one more day and we would have a daughter.

Me? Have a family? No ones ever wanted me before. I'm always "a little bit weird" or "not quite right". I started packing all my things, putting all my posters and drawings into a box, neatly so they wouldn't wrinkle. Once I had everything packed up nicely, I went to the library. No one really cared about any of the books there, so I could pretty much take any of the books I wanted. And the library had an- interesting selection. I took the entire Harry Potter set, some picture books, and a rather- erotic book that I kinda turned into my diary. I packed everything away and waited for tomorrow.
