The weeks dragged on at fairly the same rate. He came over every Friday to practice our lines. He left at the same exact time, every time. Nat was here sometimes but she usually wanted us to 'be alone together' because she really expects us to fall in love. As if he would even fall for a guy! Much less me! Her counter argument was how much he texted me. Which was truthfully quite a lot.
But as I was laying down reading, the doorbell rang. On a Thursday. And he was basically already running to my room.
When he came in he shut the door and looked at me frantically while I scooted to the edge of my bed.
"Alexander I fucked up! I didn't do the calculus homework that is due tomorrow! Can you help me? Is that alright?"
"Sure." I reached over to my backpack to get out my notes.
"You don't have to get everything out for me." He shuffled his feet.
I met his eyes. "I know we have known each other for a little over a month now but you still don't know everything about me. I find it extremely difficult to say things aloud. I need my notes for me. Because without them I'll just end up sounding dumb." I rummaged through my bag after I broke eye contact and I dreaded more.
"Alexander. You never sound dumb. You are always the smartest one." He put his hand on my shoulder.
"Thanks." I took out my notes and began to help him.

"Okay class so in two weeks we will begin presenting our projects. Everyone must be ready by that Monday as you will be going at random." Miss Montague called as class ended the next day.
I was trying to catch up to him but I saw him with another boy that looked very similar to him. I guess that's his brother. Owen was on his phone and his brother took notice. I lingered far enough away where they couldn't see me must close enough to still hear them.
"Hey O. You've been on your phone A LOT. Who's the lucky girl?" He smirked putting an arm around him.
"Girl?! No. It's no one."
"No one huh?" The brother replied. "I'm sure it's a girl. I bet she calls you 'papi'"
Just then my phone vibrated pulling me out of my listening.
Owen: I'll be over later today. Okay?
Me: yea sure. I'll be waiting.<><>
Nat busted through the door a little while after Owen had gotten to my house. "SO. We have less than two weeks. You guys need your costumes." She was overwhelmingly excited about this. "Let me measure you." She ordered the both of us.
And she did. Making sure she had every measurement correct.
"I guess I'll make them for you because you both are probably rubbish at sewing." She winked.
I guess I was slightly excited too. Maybe just because he seemed to fit with the both of us so much. It felt as though we had known him our entire lives.
