A/N: Ok so this is a sequel to the one shot I did previous to this. I realize it was a harsh cliff hanger but dang has a lot been going on in my life. But I'm back now so here is the thing!
TW: young pregnancy, and a lot of emotions.
*******************************************It had been one year since Y/N left Lafayette. Those were the hardest months of his life. He could hardly take the pain of the situation. He was having to be built back up through lots and lots of therapy.
Home was hell for him. Hell they were recently in college, young young kids. He was still doing trips to figure the whole college thing out. But he and Y/N wanted to move in together so badly...he can't even look at their old bed.
The other girl he had over couldn't stand the moping. She told him that he was too deep in love with someone else. 'Not enough room in your heart for the two of us!' She said as she left him too. For a long time he didn't understand what she meant on the surface, but deep down he did.
It was around the new year. Lafayette was going to attend a New Year's Party. First party he's attended in ages. His friends Alex, John and Hercules begged him to go. They knew how damaged he was, they just wanted to help. Even though it pained them to no longer have Y/N in their lives.
Lafayette walked into the grocery store to pick up some chips, dip and other snacks he saw necessary to bring. That was the only thing he needed to get at. But oh boy was he about to get a different treat...
He was walking throughout the store until he stopped in the snacks section and blinked. No way...
It was her. It was Y/N....and a beautiful baby with curly black hair....
Y/N look weathered and yet still beautiful...her eyes looked more tired, less of her fighting spirit was in them...her hair was a bit shorter. Her outfit looked beyond comfortable. She looked tired yet had this beautiful glow...like she radiated goodness.
He made eye contact. And in that next moment not even giving the young mother a chance to slightly wheel away her cart he bolted towards her.
"Y/N WAIT!" He said grabbing the woman by the shoulder. When up close he got a better look at the baby.
In a cute pink bunny onesie, with the chubbier cheeks, the little baby girl he saw in front of him looked precious. Her skin a perfect blend of her parents. Her eyes the sparkling color of her mother. And his big beautiful head of hair.
"L-Laf...?" Y/N said while shaking horribly. Her arms looked slightly scarred underneath her big fuzzy hoodie that was rolled up to her elbows.
"I need to talk to you....like now." He says taken away by the shell of the woman he once loved...no still loved.
"At least let me pay for my groceries..." She begged quietly. He nodded furiously. Even paying for them on top of his snacks. The two drove back to his apartment.
Lafayette let her place her groceries in his fridge to keep them from melting. She chuckled lightly.
"You haven't changed the place...not even a little bit..." she said quietly.
He choked on a sob. Refusing to let it out. "Hurt too much to change it....what's her name?" He says...his voice trembling.
"It's Marie....like your mother...it made me think of you..." She says softly picking up her baby. "She's 6 months old...I was three months along when...I left...." Her voice was like a whisper...
He couldn't take it anymore and cried. "I'm so sorry....I thought that our rough patch would last forever...I was so wrong...I'm sorry I cheated...I'm so so sorry...." He croaks out between sobs.
She stands there for a minute unmoving. He looks up to see one tear rolling down her face.
"Ok...." his hopes peaked.
"We can take it slow...I promise. I'll make you fall back in love. And I'll be here for you...for both of you..."
It wasn't easy. There was time and time again that their relationship was tested except this time there wasn't any running away. There was communication and honesty.
Love found its way
