I was on my ship. I was a fisherman. One of the men came to my post.

"Captain there's a storm comin just north of us" I gave him a stern look.

"How long do we have?" my voice held strong as I spoke to him.

"At least two hours capitan" I frowned. We had at least a good day before we could see land again. Why weren't we told that their was a possibility for a storm?

"Damn... how strong to you guess it to be?" I kept my eyes forward. He said that it looked like it wouldn't do much damage. "Tell everyone just incase it can do damage. I don't need most of my crew complaining that they never knew about a storm."

"Ei capitan.. lets hope no mermaids won't find our ship" the man walked out the door, and I furrowed my brows.

"Don't fill their heads with childrens tales" The storm seemed to be coming closer than expected.

The storm came after an hour. It was much harder than myself and Colton had expected. I tried to keep the ship on course while everyone was making sure none of the cargo fell off the boat. Colton soon came in to tell me something.

"Why are you in here! Go help the others! Now!" I shouted at the older man. Before he could reply a large wave shadowed the ship. I looked up in horror. I could hear my men shouting profanities and trying to go below deck.

I heard one of the men yell that their lived mean more than the cargo. They were right. I told Colton to go below deck.

"What about you?" He yelled over the thunder with a booming voice.

"A captain stays with their ship, and keeps their men safe! Now go below deck!" I yelled at him. The older man understood the tone in my voice, and went below deck. I could feel the men bagding the floor under me. I kept going and the wave hit the ship. I was hit directly and taken from my post.

The wave brought me to the door I stood up and went back to the wheel. Before I could get there another wave came bringing me to the side of he ship. I stood up once more and a very large wave came. I saw the growing shadow and looked in horror as it came down. I ran to tell my ment o prepare to swim but I was slammed to the ground; my head hitting the wooden boards hard.

I screamed in pain, and held my head. I sat up, my head pounding in my ears, and tried to stand. I stood up and went closer to where the entrance below deck was.

I thought for a moment. Any path that I choose has the possibility to kill me or my crew. I started to hear ringing in my ears. The sound silenced the roaring thunder and pounding rain. The sea salt stings my eyes as I blinked multiple times to regain a slight sense of sight.

I pulled my hand away from my head and saw small amounts of blood on it. I could start to hear banging on the door. I was being pushed up. I tried to get off of the door but as soon as I took a step off a powerful wave pulled me off deck and kept the doors shut.

I inhaled the water and felt a burning sensation in my nose and lungs. I screamed but all that came out were bubbled and a muffled scream. I tried to swim up but I felt like I was being dragged further down. In a few minutes I felt deaths cold hands wrap around my heart. I saw my life play out like it was a movie. I was still screaming, but more water poured into my lungs. I tried to cough it back up, but I couldn't anymore. I was now dead.

No one would find my body, I would sink to the sea floor. No one would know that Ryan Zion the oldest son to Logan Lee Zion, Irish born, and gifted child. Older brother to two sisters. What will my family do when they find out what happened to me? What will Kennedy and Jayden do? What will mama and papa do? What will Colton and Hayden do?

I felt my legs merge together, and hot tears leave my eyes. They never rolled down my cheeks. I didn't feel the burning in my nose and lungs anymore. I opened my eyes. My clothes were torn. I pulled my shirt and jacket off. I looked around. I found people looking at me. One swam up to me and started to sign something to me. I soon started to understand.

"Can you understand now?" I nodded my head. "Good we'll teach you what you need to know" the person smiled. I was confused but didn't question it. How am I going to keep my sisters safe now?
