A/N: Hey, guys! PJandKKfan here, with another story! I got the inspiration for this from one of my favorite songs Waiting for Superman by Daughtry, which you can see in the multimedia. I don't own the song or lyrics I used in this, but the PLOT of this story is MINE!

I haven't decided if this will be a one-shot or a full story. Let me know in the comments below if you think I should continue this. Dedicated to Percy_Is_Awesome for editing this. Enjoy :)

She sits on a bench on a sidewalk of a busy street in Manhattan, New York, close enough that she could see the Empire State Bulding quite clearly. She watches a teenage boy, who looked about her age, catch a taxi. He wore jeans, black All-Star converse, and, most strangely of all, a dark blue shirt with the red and yellow Superman logo. For a guy about seventeen, this seemed quite strange to her.

But, then again, she was strange in her own way, and, after all, this was New York.

She looks through the window of the taxi at the boy, who she then realizes is looking back at her. The taxi driver then pulls away.

The girl goes back to the Superman comic book she had been reading. The cliché story about Superman saving a young women from some evil guys.

The girl, Lois Lane, was waiting for her own Superman to save her from the evils of every day life.

"Yeah, he's still coming, just a little bit late," she told herself, "He probably got stuck at the laundromat washing his cape."

Lois looked up at the sky and watched the clouds roll by. And she smiles, oh the way she smiles.

At night, in her head, she talks to angels and counts the millions of stars in the dark sky she can see through her bedroom window.

Now, she's making a wish on a passing car. Please let my Superman come soon. Please!

In her dreams, she's dancing with strangers, and falling apart.

And all she can always think is: I'm waiting for Superman to pick me up. In his arms, yeah.

There had been an explosion half an hour before. The cause, no one knew. There was a crowd of people twenty feet away, watching the police investigate the scene.

Lois was on the corner, trying to catch a glimpse. Nothing, nothing at all, was making sense. So far the people had been told that the explosion had seemingly happened at random. Lois is trying to chase an answer in her mind: a sign lost in the abyss, this Metropolis.

She whispers to herself, "Yeah, Superman's coming, just a little bit late. He probably got stuck at the Five and Dime saving the day. If this were a movie,  then it wouldn't end like this," still she smiles. "Left without a kiss."

She's waiting for Superman to pick her up in his arms. To lift her up, and take her anywhere. To show her love and climb through the air. To save her before it's too late.

Like a speeding light, and she smiles.

After an hour or so, the police had told the crowd to go home for their own safety. So Lois was walking home when she felt something hold her back from taking another step. She whirled around to see someone in a completely black outfit, complete with a ski mask, running off with her purse!

She ran as fast as she could after the person-she was pretty sure it was a man, but couldn't be a hundred percent certain-but she wasn't fast enough to catch up to her/him.

The person was about to turn the corner when they were knocked down by someone else-a boy, in a blue shirt. He grabbed the purse from the robber, right when the police showed up-they handcuffed the robber and dragged them over to their police car.

Completely perfect timing, Lois thought.

The boy turned, grinning, and handed Lois back her purse. She looked up to the boy's face to realize it was the boy from earlier, the one with the Superman shirt who had gotten into the taxi near her.

"Thanks for getting my purse back," she said.

"No problem," he replied, still grinning. "So, um, hey."

Lois laughed. "Hey, Superman."
