Both Clark Kent and Ron Lithgow have dangerous secrets. One is an alien who looks human. The other is a human whose body was replaced by aliens. One chooses to spend part of his time living a normal life. The other can never live a normal life. One avoids fame and the other was forced into fame. What can the anonymous hero of Metropolis learn about a relationship with a woman from a celebrity who is denied any such relationship?

Based on the song Waiting for Superman by Daughtry. I don't own the song or lyrics used in this, but the plot is mine. Lois Lane was just sitting and reading on a bench on the sidewalk of a New York street when she notices a boy in a blue Superman shirt. Before she could do or say anything, the driver of the taxi he is in pulls away. Later, after an unknown explosion goes off and Lois is walking home, a robber starts to run off with her purse. Just when the person is about to get away, a certain someone in a Superman shirt stops them.

All he ever wanted was to make his dad proud, to embody his legacy. To be the hero people expected. But things don't always go according to plan... Jason Kent lives under the wide cast shadow of The Man of Steel. Balancing school, friends and a secret identity becomes more and more difficult. His growing frustrations of not living up to an impossible standard causes tensions to rise between him and his father. His only security seems to be his budding relationship with the beautiful new girl. His limits and spirit are tested as new abilities emerge, and enemies grow relentless to find the infamous Son of Steel.
