I rushed into the class, afraid I would be late. Thank god I wasn't. I was late all week. My teacher would've killed me if I was late again.
I walked to the back of the classroom where I normally sat and sat down in my usual spot. What I didn't realize is that I sat next to my crush. Park Chanyeol. He's been my crush ever since I met him. I've never told anyone because I don't won't people to judge me. Or for him to find out.
We were in a K-Pop group together. It's called EXO. I'm sure you've heard of it before. We are close friends. But he doesn't know I have a crush on him of course.
"Today, I will be assigning projects," the teacher started to speak. "Your partner will be the person next to you. I'd like you two to move your desks together and introduce yourselves. Once you've done that, look up at the board and find the number I will assign to you in just one moment."
The teacher, Mr. Jackson, walked over to us and assigned us the number 69. Chanyeol and I couldn't help to just laugh at the number after he left to assign everyone else their numbers.
We already had each other's numbers since we were in a K-Pop group together. We then look up at the board and looked for our number. I saw it wrote down what our project would be about. It was about the psychological phenomenons of love.
"Class is dismissed," Mr. Jackson announced. "Don't forget to work on your projects! I will be expecting them to be done in a month."
Chanyeol and I stand up and grab our belongings.
"I'll text you as soon as I can," Chanyeol says as he walks out of the classroom.
I start to leave the classroom and walk to my locker. I grab my bag and leave the school, starting to walk back to my house. Once I arrive, I ignore my parents and rush to my room.
"Sehun," my mom calls for me. "What's the rush for?"
"I need to work on a project," I yelled to her. "I have no time to talk. It's very important that I start working on it immediately."
I waited for a response but heard nothing. I knew that was my signal that they would leave me alone and let me work. I didn't care about the project. I just cared about Chanyeol. I was glad we were working together but I was also scared to work with him.
At that moment, I received a text from Chanyeol.
The text message read "May I come to your house to work on the project?"
I quickly responded, telling him that would be a great idea. I rushed to clean up my room and looked out the window, waiting for him to arrive. I was extemely nervous but yet excited.
"Sehun," my mom called for me again. "Someone is here to see you."
Before you ask, I'm just visiting my family for the holidays.
I hear the front door shut and sit on my bed, yelling to her. "Go ahead and send him up here."
I can hear his footsteps come up the stairs and to my room door. Before he has the chance to knock, I tell him to come in. He then opens the door and looks at me.
"Nice room," Chanyeol said with a smile.
"Thank you," I say as I gesture him to sit next to me.
Even though we are close friends, he has never been to my house. I always go to his because mine is messy. He sits down next to me and I get out my laptop and sets in on the table I pulled in front of us. I pull up the notepad on my laptop and create a new note.
"Title it 'Psychological Phenomenons of Love," Chanyeol said.
I followed his intructions and titled it what he told me to title it. I then typed in our names.
"You know," Chanyeol started to speak again. "I've been keeping this secret from everyone. I've been scared for anyone to find out."
I turned to him in confusion, letting him speak.
"I like you," Chanyeol continued. "I have liked you since we've met."
I was thrilled when I heard that. Now I can tell him that I've felt the same way.
"Really?" I said. "I've feel the same way. Ever since I met you, I've liked you. But I've been scared to tell you. Or tell anyone. I didn't want anyone to make fun of me."
At first Chanyeol froze and just stared at me. But then he started to smile and hugged me.
"I'm glad you feel the same way," he said.
Once he let me go, I started typing what just happened. I thought this would be perfect for our project.
"Two people that are close friends finally confessed their love for each other," Chanyeol started reading off what I typed. "They were both scared to confess because they didn't know how the other person felt. But once the first person confessed, the other subject then confessed that they felt the exact same way all year."
"What do you think?" I asked him.
"I like it," Chanyeol confessed.
I looked at him and smiled then went back to typing. I was so focussed on typing that I didn't realize he kissed me on the cheek. He wrapped his arm around me as I continued to type for our project.
"Do you want to take a break?" Chanyeol asked me.
"Sure," I said. "We've got a lot down already for the first day. But we're not even close to being 1/4 of the way finished with the project."
I check the time on my laptop and it reads 10:45 PM.
"Is it okay if I stay over tonight?" Chanyeol asked. "Then I can work on the project a little when I wake up if you're still asleep. Plus, it's Friday."
I look over at him and smiled, "Of course you can stayed over."
We both layed under the covers in my bed and looked at each other.
"Goodnight Sehun," Chanyeol said with a smile.
"Goodnight Chanyeol," I replied and kissed him on the cheek.
