Chapter 1

"y/n! Where are you going?" Your mother called to you as you left the house.

"To the store, mom!" You yelled back and bit your lip in hopes she'd believe you.

"Be back before 7!" She yelled.

~8:00pm~

You were out on the town- alone. Walking through the busy streets on your own seemed peaceful only to you. You had friends and loved them dearly but you loved being alone as well. You walked into a Target to buy a flashdrive for school. You found one and read the tag. "$40," it said. You checked your pockets for money and realized you didn't bring any. You needed it to start a project due in two days. You looked around and put the box with the flashdrive into your sweatshirt pocket and rushed out of the building. You were looking at the ground the whole time and ran into some thing. No, someone.

"Oof," they said. You looked up at a handsome boy who looked at you and smirked but then looked down at your pocket. The flashdrive was showing now. You knew he figured out what you were doing and put your head down and walked away immediately.

"Hey! You forgot your phone!" The boy shouted but you didn't hear him. He thought to himself, I should tell the store manager and turn in the phone. But then he remembered your face. Your hair. Your beautiful eyes. The way you looked at him. I need to find this beautiful girl. Surely there's a reason she stole.

"Give that back!" You heard from around the corner that lead to the storage of the store outside. You peered around to find a teenager like yourself being taunted by large teenage boys with her phone high in their hands. You had to help. You run over to the boys.

"Give her that back!" You yell.

"Shut up." The one boy yells as he pushed you and you plummet to the ground.

"If you touch me I'll-" you said.

"-You'll what." The other yelled.

"I'll punch you." You said.

"She will! I know she can do it!" The girl yelled as she pointed to you. You were satisfied by the help.

"Shut up, Lilli." The last boy said.

"Noah, you can't tell me anything!" Lilli yelled. Lilli was a skinny, short girl with lengthy blonde hair. Noah, however, was tall and buff with dark brown hair.

"You know each other?!" You said as you got to your feet.

"Y-yes. He's my boyfriend. " Lilli said as she teared up.  You punched Noah and he fell to the ground.

"Why didnt you break up with him?" You snarled.

"I'm not allowed! He said he'll hurt me." Lilli cried.

"You two are now broken up. I declared." You yell as you grab the phone from Noah and hand it to Lilli. "Run, I'll tell someone what he's done. Just leave."

"I don't have a car." Lilli said.

"Can you drive?" You asked. Lilli nodded. You handed her your keys.

"What?" Lilli stuttered. "I can't do that!"

"It's for your own safety. Take it. Meet me here tomorrow so I can take it back and drive you home." You whisper.

"Thank you." Lilli cried. She waved and then walked away.

"Get this boy out of here. And think about this: Why would you ever think this is the right thing? Will you?" You said as you pushed the other boys away. They ran away.

The boy you ran into ran behind the building to where you were.

"Hey! Lady! You drop-" he said but was interrupted by a punch. You had just punched him in the face and he had fallen from the impact.
