CHAPTER FOUR
╰☆╮
RAVEN LET OUT AN AUDIBLE GROAN SLAMMING her head down on her desk, the sack of papers that were placed there from her boss was almost as huge as a mountain. After finally fitting in her new town, Raven managed to make some new friends and she was excited to finally go out tonight but once her boss informed her of the amount of work she had to do, the thought quickly flew out the window. It was a ridiculous amount of paperwork that would take days to complete yet her boss wanted it done in 25 hours. Meaning that she would be forced to stay in the office longer than she wants to.
"Hey, Raven, I was—" Haley's loud voice booms through the floor everyone's eyes focusing on her before going back to work. Raven looks up to see Haley's mouth open in shock with her eyes wide as golf balls. She didn't say anything and slammed her head back on the desk. "Um, I was going to tell you that you have some files to fix but I can see your hands are um, full."
"No, it's fine, I can look through them." Raven lifts her head and looks at Haley. She noticed that Raven had small bags under her eyes and her hair was a mess, it was in a bundle on her head.
Pressing her lips tightly, Haley wasn't sure wether to give her the files or fix them herself. Raven's desk and area was a mess, everything were either files or boxes with trash. Haley frowns her eyes scanning the area around her desk but Raven sighs, "Don't worry, Hals, I can fix them. I might be late tonight but it's nothing I can't handle."
Haley felt guilty for giving Raven more tasks but as her superior she had to do it and her small innocent smile that she gave her was enough to make her cave. Haley exhales deeply grabbing the box behind her and placing it on her desk. Instantly, Raven's smile falters at the sight. Haley notices and she quickly shakes her hands, "You don't have to! I can always find someone else to do it!"
"No, it's fine. I can manage to finish this and my other work..." Raven trails off getting up from her seat and looking through the files that Haley had given her. There was about thirty files in the box and since she was only fixing mistakes she was sure she would finish it in time. "So, when's the deadline?"
"Umm...." Haley avoids eye contact, her hands spinning her bracelet around her wrist. Raven narrows her eyes at Haley finding her pause suspiciously. Haley breathed in before quickly adding in, "Tomorrow morning."
"What!?" Raven shouted jumping from her seat. Haley flinches at her loud tone knowing that's exactly how she'll react to it. There weren't many files and finding mistakes was easy enough but it was the stress that made Raven react the way she did or else it would've been a breeze to her.
Haley's brows pinch together, her fingers playing with the bracelet she had on, Raven rubs her face sitting back down on her chair with a soft groan but Haley heard it. "Raven, you really don't have to. There's plenty of people I can—"
