Hoagey P Giligan Jr, 7, wasn't exactly what you'd call a cool kid. And he was ok with that.

What he wasn't okay with was people who teased him for it.

The more he thought of it, the more he saw it. And so he signed up for the Safety Patrol, the second most elite kid security force in the school.

It was second best, which he was used to. He always liked being second best, which is why when his friend, Nigel, talked up how he got into the Cadets Next Door, he was happy for him

But that changed one day. He waited for Nigel, as usual, for recess. But today was different.

Nigel introduced him to Abby

"He-llo. What brings a little lady like you to these parts a' the lunch room?" he asked

Abby just looked at him. Nigel laughed nervously

"Uh... Hoagey, I'm helping Numbuh 5 here with a... recruitment mission. And I recommended you."

Things happened fast. One minute he was in school, the next he was in some sort of lab.

Five-year-old Nigel Uno looked bewildered at the group of in sync elementary schoolers in front of him

"We know you like to talk with one of the members of Sector V."

"W...what?"

"Don't play dumb! Perhaps you know some of the members as the Lincoln sisters. Cree and Abigail?"

"Y...yes. What do you with them?"

"Tell us everything you know about the Kids Next Door!"

"What?"

"The Parent Teacher Organization of Eradicating Youngsters? The Abominable Snow coats?"

"W... wha-"

He watched them blabber on and on

"B-but those are all just stories!"

"Ha, don't play dumb!"

"Really!"

"Don't play dumb with us!" the snarled, holding up photos of the adults they had spoken of

Nigel was speechless

The "facts" he stood for just debunked before his eyes

Eventually they got sick of him and tossed him in a machine they called the "new delightfulization chamber"

He banged for mercy on the door as the older kids laughed and a light grew inside, suddenly

"Ugh, it blew a fuse!" they exclaimed, annoyed

But when they put Nigel out, a lot was different,

His hair was gone and he was badly injured

And so, the villains tossed him to the street.
