It had been an assignment that we had to present to the whole class,
The butterflies in my stomach wouldn't settle down as I waited for my turn,
I remember his encouraging smile as I got up.

I unveiled the painting and I saw his eyes widen ever so slightly,
A light unnoticeable blush settled on my cheeks as I spoke about the colours I had chosen,
But the whole time his eyes didn't leave mine.

When he went up his face was red and he was clearly nervous,
He unveiled a painting of a familiar smile,
My killer smile.
