Rain poured over the hood of his car as Tetsuo desperatley tried to relight his cigarette. What had he got hiself in to? "Dae?" he called out into the dark. No response. He slowly reached for his gun, hands shaking as he made his way to the entrance.

"Tetsuuuoooo" his eyes shot open to see his sister standing over his bed with a cup of coffee and a plate of bacon and eggs. "Kima," he said letting out a long breath. "You're a legend". Kima handed him his breakfast before making her way to get ready for work .

Since his parents were killed he'd been living with his sister. Kima had never told him what happened, so he joined the police force, hoping to find some answers. The pay was low and the locals hurled abuse at him every step he took. The only saving virtue was the low rent, alright co-workers, and the free instant coffee at work.

The morning birdsong was drowned out by the roar of engines as he stepped out of the front door. The police station was a run-down building in the south-east of the city, and only a five minute walk from Tetsuo's house. Making his way through the hustle of morning rush-hour, he thought about what life would have been like if his family haden't  moved from Okazaki to Boston, if his parents would still be alive, and if his life would be any better for it. He stepped through the double doors that lead into the police station, and took in a breath of the busy air. This was his real home.
