Can immortal enemies really be in love?

Chapter 18

{ALICE'S POV]

"Bret, it's time to go."

"Ugg, I don't want to go to school."

"Neither do I."

"But you have to, now get your lazy butts up."

Bret crawled off the bed and I flopped off of it.

"Here's your coffee."

"Thanks."

"None for me?"

"You don't drink coffee, Alice."

"I know."

All of us then went outside and ran to school.

"See you later."

"See you."

*Time skip*

"Bret!" Jake yelled, across the table.

"What?"

I challenge you to a skirmish after school."

"Ok, sure."

"You know, Bret's going to beat you into the ground."

"Yes, but I still want to try."

"Your funeral."

We all started laughing and Jake stuck his tounge out at us.

*Time skip*

"Ready?"

"Yep."

Bret and Jake then ran at each other, but Bret ducked and knocked Jake off his feet.

"Hey, Leah?"

"Yes?"

"How did you and Bret meet?"

"Oh, she came to my pack and we pretty much grew together, and became like sisters."

"Can you tell me about Bret's past? She doesn't talk about it much."

"Sure. Well, when she was born she was the daughter f the alpha's of the pack near your house."

"What, so Bret was supposed to be alpha?"

"Yep, but she never really hated the vampires, no matter how much everyone told her to. One day, about 100 years after she was born, her parents went missing and the pack found them, dead, everyone thought it was the vampires. But Bret swore on her life she didn't think it was, there was no scent of them, when she was alpha everyone was trying to force her to hare the vampires and take their territory."

"But how would she take it, isn't the house a safe place, and there were many more vampires before now."

"Well, Bret was the strongest wolf the pack had ever seen or had, so taking the territory would be easy if she would just hate the vampires. Eventually the pack had enough of her and chased her off. She traveled south and came to my pack, I was born a few years later and she was the main one to take care of me, so we grew very close and told everyone we were sisters. Bret told me about the vampire thing and I agreed with her. the vampires never sis anything to us, so why hate them?"

"You're right, but why did you come back north?"

"Because, the pack found out that Bret was actually sneaking away and meeting up with the vampires, of course they thought she was human and didn't care, but the pack did. They chased Bret off and I went after her, I tracked her scent all the way back up here, but couldn't find her. So, I decided to stay with the pack and hope to find her."

"You really do care about her?"

"Of course, she's the only one who was ever there for me, and we're like family."

We then looked into the yard and saw Bret had Jake pinned down, both of them bruised up and a little bit of blood. Ella then came out.

"Instead of fighting, why don't you show Leah around the territory. And we'll all go."

Bret got off of Jake and walked over to us, and Jake walked over to Felix and Vickie. Ella then lead the way into the woods, of course, Bret and Leah were in wolf form.

*Time skip*

we had walked around almost the entire territory, when everyone started complaining that their feet hurt.

"Fine we can stop."

"But I want to keep exploring!"

"I'll go with her."

"Ok, just be safe."

"I'm sure two lycans will be safe in their own territory."

"You never know."

Bret and Leah then walked off in the direction we were going.

"Ugg, how do they have that much energy, and they're walking bare foot too."

"I have no clue."

We then heard the sticks snapping all around us and a really bad stench fill the air around us. We all jumped up and saw almost the whole pack of lycans around us.

"Aw, no wolves to help you this time."

"Yes there is. BRET, LEAH!"

{BRET'S POV}

I heard Alice yell mine and Leah's names.

"Leah, let's go."

We took off running back in the direction we came, and saw them surrounded by the pack. I ran and jumped in the middle and stood in front of the alpha.

"Just the wolf we were looking for."

He then knocked me back, but I recovered and ran at him. In that moment he turned into a human and snapped a plant full of some type of powder in my nose.

{ALICE'S POV}

Bret flinched backwards and started shaking her head. She then started growling and turned around, she was growling at me, and her eyes were a dark brown almost black.

"Kill her."
