Hi guys! This is my first novel ever, so please don't judge me. Let's start with that, right off the bat. This is the novel where I want to explore every aspect of La Douleur Exquise and the pursuit of happiness that we all are in right now. This should be a reminder to all that the greatest happiness can sometimes lie within our reach and in the choices that we make.
The title translates to the City of Stars. It was a metaphor that I thought and reflected on about. It contains a very deep meaning for me because I always thought that happiness is always out of my reach. That where I was in the City of Darkness, at the ground, where no vestige of light penetrated it's boundaries, it would surely be impossible for me to climb the City of Stars. But this story reflects my slight hope that I'll one day find that happiness and that bliss that I can find in love.
I won't make this long, but since my anxiety won't rest without me saying it, I apologize for all the future grammar mistakes and inconsistencies in the plot that might occur in the future. I am open to all criticism and comments and suggestions or anything at all, really. Whether professional and academic criticisms or just a short and simple curse here and there would make me so happy.
Finally, before I go, I felt like this novel was an exploratory phase. I wanted it to be published, but my mind told me to slow down and ask for other people's perspectives first. So here I am. I really hope you like it!
P.S. This story contains A LOT of triggers. So please, if you are easily triggered, please don't read this story. Triggers include explicit descriptions of suicide, mentions of attempted rape, and so on. Don't worry, I'll try to put warnings in each chapter that contains said triggers. But be careful. Your health should always be put first!
So, without, further ado, this is La Ville Des Etoiles!
Merry Christmas!
