I first heard this quote when I was watching Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless mind. I've loved it ever since. It seems to be a bit of a double edged sword to me though. If you forget you've done something, then it can't bother you, but it can still hurt you, like "Ignorance is bliss". Just because you don't know about it, doesn't mean it isn't real or effecting you.
But at the same time, if you forget something that causes you pain or grief and you forget it, you can be happier and worry less about things. I guess it just depends on how you look at it really.
