Madilyn and Kate both have rough backgrounds, and that may be part of the reson they're such great friends. They grew up together and shared their horrible pasts. Madilyn, though, remains innocent and optimistic at heart whilst Kate grows bitter and cold. Kate's newfound relationship, rebellion, and self-destructive behavior may be harmful to them both.
