Growls and whimpers of death is all I heard around me while I am hiding in the closet in my green nature room my parents made for me. Tears sliding down my face gripping the bear with both arms. I am petrified hoping and praying to the moon goddess for my brother, Jake and my parents.

It happened out of nowhere. We were celebrating my parents 14-year anniversary at our house. Everyone was there in our neatly cleaned living room and our patio. Kids were playing, dancing while parents were socializing. We were happy until the rouges demanded something from my parents. The next thing I remembered, my brother grabbing me locking me in the room in the closet. Screams and cries were heard.

It seemed like forever until the closet door was ripped opened and I let out a terrified scream as the rouge grabbed my small brown arms. Kicking and screaming for help as the rouge drag me out of my room. My answers were answered when my 15 year old brother wolf came and knocked the rouge down and bit down on his neck. I close my eyes as my brother kills the rouge spraying the blood across the hallway walls. When I opened my eyes my brother was back in human form with blood all over his face and naked chest. I grabbed some shorts that was next to me and gave it to him to cover him up.

"Come on, Nia. We got to go find mama." He said holding his hand out to me. I nodded afraid and hurried my pace. Down the stairs towards the kitchen back door stands my mother. She stands there with her hair curly dreadlocks down her back. She tilt her head upwards letting the moon dress her cocoa skin in a glow. She turns to us her eyes glowing a gold color letting us know her wolf is also present. Her tears is down her face and a small smile grace her face.

"Nia, sweetheart, I want you to run and never look back. Your brother and his friends will protect you. I want you to live your life to the fullest and never give up." My mother said calmly while the battle outside grew closer to where we are. Screams and death still surrounds us, but she is smiling. However, when I peer into her eyes, they say otherwise. She is frightened and sad. At the time, I didn't understand. I didn't know that that moment would be the last time I would see her and dad. My brother, Jake, stands there with tears in his amber eyes that haven't shed. His eyes showed the same emotion. Sadness and fear, but for what. At the time, I didn't know that it's because of me.

They knew what would happen if they got their hands on me. Jake grabbed my hand and shifted into a grey wolf. I hold on to him and felt the pain in my chest. The connection between my mother and father. Tears slid down my face as the home I once knew was destroyed by rouges.
