i was awoken by getting a text message from my best friend.
(best friends name) :hey ^.^ i miss you marta ! come visit me soon !
marta:ofc ! i miss you too. i miss korea so much :(
i got ready for school and went downstairs after i was ready for school. as i walked in i saw a plate full of breakfast and a note next to it.
good morning honey, this is for you to start off your wonderful day off. have a good first day ♡ p.s leave some for your sister -mom
i smiled, my mom was more like my best friend than a mom.
here's the deal, my mom and i and my little sister moved to australia after she divorced my dad. after that we decided to move here and start off fresh. i wanted to be homeschooled but my mom denied it. she had a full time job, plus taking care of two daughters and trying to keep us close, she has enough on her hands while being a single mother.
i texted my sister if she was ready for school. on my way out the door i grabbed a water bottle. i got in my car and connected my phone. once my sister came out and got in the car. "did you lock the door?" "yes" she replied.
i'm a 12th grader (senior) in high school, my sister is in 9th grade (freshman). i'm hoping she doesn't get in trouble. i was a mess in freshman, getting bad grades and such. i stopped doing those because i want to teach my sister the right ways.
i parked in the parking lot of the school. my sister was already out the car and on her way in. i ran up to her breathing hard.
"wait for me gosh"
she laughed, once we were in we saw a boy and a man.
"hello my name is Mr.Thomas the principal of this school, this here is Bang Byung Chan please call him Chan" the older man smiled. chan sat up from his seat and introduced himself. "hello" chan has a deep accent.
I smiled, "Hello my name is Marta, and this here is Andi my little sister."
"chan is your tour guide for today. have a good day"
We were all now in the main hallway.
"where are you from" chan asked, "korea" i answered "your english is so good and you don't have an accent?"
i laughed , "well my mom is korean my father is actually american." chan then told me that he was also korean.
"so here the end of the tour around the school," i looked around and didn't find my sister. i started to panic. i started to walk around.
"marta!" chan looked into your eyes worried "what's wrong"
"where's andi she was her a minute ago" i walked into another hallway and see her but she wasn't alone. she was with guys. they looked like they were talking. then the guy with blonde hair pushed my sister. his friend were laughing and pointing.
i ran to my sister and she looked terrified. i looked up at chan. he nodded and took my sister to the school nurse. once they left i looked at the guy.
he had freckles and he had a smile on his face.
"well who's the sister of the day" he laughed. i punch him in the face, he fell on the ground holding his nose. i looked at him with the same eyes my mother gives me when i do something wrong.
"leave my sister alone you jerk. and you guys" i pointed to his friends. "your next if you dare lay a finger on her." i walked away. i hear the guy say "you'll pay for this" i ignores his comments.
i called andi to see if she was alright. she said that chan showed her to first period. which remind me that i needed to go to class.
i walked in and it wasn't packed at all.
since it was the first day for everyone we didn't have seats so i sat near the back. kids started to come in. i see chan come in. i waved my hand. he sees me and smiles and sits next to me. "thanks for taking my sister to class."
"no problem marta"
i turned to the door and see someone i don't really wanna see right now. the blonde. the one who pushed my sister.
"who's that?" i asked chan. the blonde dude then high fives his friend and sits down.
"that's lee felix" he said looking at me. "don't get involved with him anymore. he's the school bully, the most popular guy in school."
i nodded eyeing felix down. his friend mentions something to him. felix then looks my way his smile then turned into a pissed off face. i roll my eyes.
