She remembers the day she first met him, when she seemingly fell out of the sky.

It was like fate, that day.
From then on, they were unstoppable.
Creation and destruction, as one working together to create the perfect harmony.

Two bodies, sharing a soul. Two souls intertwined into one. That's how it is. Until it became that's how it was.

She still remembers that day, the day where everything changed, the day she felt pain so unbearable it ripped through her entire body, and teared out of her throat as she screamed and screamed. No amount of Akuma attacks on her could compare to the pain she felt.
But no one was there to hear her, as one half of their intertwined souls was ripped from her body.

Her soulmate, her first and last love. Now, she laughs bitterly at how stupid she was, how ironic the whole situation was.

She remembers when it happened. As that spear pierced through his body, time slowed for her. As he fell to the ground for the last time, she felt numb. She watched as his magic wore off and one exhausted shaking kwami was forced out of his ring.
She watched as his face she knew as Chat Noir become the face she knew as Adrien Agreste.
There was no "bye bye little butterfly" this time, there was no joyful laughter and the cherished words "pound it!". There was only painful silence.

And as the people of Paris surged forward screaming and demanding to know what happened, the pain hit her with full force.
She remembers how she gasped and screamed for help, not for herself, but for her partner, her soulmate. She remembers propelling herself through the air until she reached the top of the Eiffel Tower. She remembers when she collapses on top of it, cursing herself for being so dumb, for not realising her partner was her love.

She remembers everything, the grief of the pain, the emotional stabs to her heart are still fresh, as of it was only yesterday.

And finally, she remembers.
Standing on the top of the Eiffel Tower, she looks up at the cloudy sky, droplets of rain beginning to fall, as if Paris is mourning for their lost hero.
She vividly remembers screaming his name, begging, pleading, demanding for the sky to give him back until she crumples in defeat.
She remembers looking up at the sky, her own tears of grief streaming down her face as she whispers those words she deeply regrets not saying to his face sooner.

Je t'aime mon petit chaton.

Because you only need the light when it's burning low
Only miss the sun when it starts to snow
Only know you love him when you let him go
And you let him go
