LOUIS POV:

I mean, I guess she was pretty in the whole 'girl-next-door' type of way: long hair, big eyes, a sweet little smile and rosy cheeks. Her beauty wasn't in your face and dramatic, but it wasn't like it was nonexistent. Not exactly my type, but we weren't about to ask questions. Harry wanted her, and that was that. He always got what he wanted.

Her name was Gabrielle Green, and she was working as a nanny for a family that lived a few streets over from her apartment, in a big house on a hill. She didn't have a car, so she walked to work every morning at 8 am, and left every day at 5. I'm not even sure how he found her; she seemed to keep to herself for the most part. She had two roommates, no boyfriend, and no pets. We had been watching her for exactly three weeks, and she had stuck to a flawless routine: jogging every morning at 6, going to the grocery store on Saturdays, going to the bank every Friday afternoon. She was organized and neat, and it was an unusual pick for Harry, especially considering Lisa, the last girl that he had been with.

Today, Harry was planning to talk to her. And by talk to her, that meant claim her. We were waiting by her apartment watching the clock. It was 5:13, which meant that she would be rounding the corner at the end of the street in just a few minutes.

Like clockwork, we saw her walking towards us two minutes later. She was fumbling for her keys in her bag and subtly checking her surroundings in order to verify that she was safe. One of her roommates was out of town this week for a wedding, and the other was visiting family, so we had planned it perfectly. Harry got out of the driver's side, and I followed right behind him. Gabrielle didn't see us coming at first because she was trying to unzip the side pocket of her bag, and when she finally looked up, her expression was unreadable. She glanced past us to the car, and then her eyes flickered onto mine shortly, before landing on Harry.

We were blocking her path to her front door and she pressed her lips together, trying to decide what to do. Bravely, she stepped forward, clutching her keys, and trying to maneuver around us. I raised my eyebrows in surprise. People usually crossed to the other side of the street when they saw us coming. They never tried to just step around us.

"Excuse me." She said clearly, but Harry sidestepped her with a chuckle. She stumbled backwards, and now fear was prevalent in her wide eyes.

"What do you want?" She murmured, reaching for her wallet. "I've only got a little bit of cash. You can take it. Just leave me alone please." Her gaze was cast down and she wouldn't look at Harry as she tried to hand him some crisp dollar bills.

"Look at me." He ordered. She didn't, instead continuing to hold out the money. "I don't want your money." His voice was even and steady. Gabrielle lowered her hand and raised her eyes. Her expression was unreadable, and she took a deep breath.

"I've seen you both following me for weeks. I didn't come to this town for more trouble, so why don't you just tell me what it is that you want and I'll see what I can do for you."

I was surprised that she had seen us. We were amazing trackers, and very rarely caught, which meant that she had flawless perceptive abilities. She was smart, and I couldn't deny that I was impressed.

"Don't you wanna know my name?" Harry asked, cracking his knuckles.

"No." She said shortly. The innocent girl-next-door vibe had disappeared. Now, she seemed feisty; all sweetness dissolved. "You seem dangerous. And the less that I know about dangerous people, the better."

"Smart girl." Harry grinned, reaching for a strand of her hair. Quick as a whip, she smacked his hand away. He raised his eyebrows and chuckled, before grabbing her chin roughly. She pursed her lips, and her dark blue eyes went almost black with a mix of fear and rage.
