He Knows Me Better

Veronica's POV

"Cmon, it's just grass and last time I
checked, it didn't bite you, Ver. "

"I know it doesn't duh, it's just that I haven't been here in so long. I just wanna reminisce the time when we were little." I said to Xavier.

We were at the place. Our place. It was located outside Manhattan. We had a cottage built here and we being we didn't bring the keys. The situation was not suitable for us bringing keys to the cottage.

" Just lay down, Ver" I listened to him and laid down. Looking up at the sky i ould stars shining brightly. This is like a magical place. When we came here during our childhood,I  used to do the same or rather me and Xav used to sneak out at night and go stargazing.

"You didn't answer my question ?" his voice brought me  out of my thoughts.

"I'm sorry. I wasn't listening." I reply quickly not wanting to make a conversation.

"Why are you bringing Gossip Girl back ?"

I know he isn't going to stop asking me until I give him an answer, " Some things are better left unsaid, Xavier."

"So you aren't going to tell me"he says, his voice rising a bit.

"Don't ruin the moment" I say merely as a whisper.

"Why don't you tell me ?" he says, now sitting and facing me.

I close my eyes and take a deep breath. I then get up and he looks at me still waiting for my answer. I'm not going to tell him. Never.

"Can we go back ?"

"Not until you answer my question" he says smirking at me.

Well, two can play at this game.

"You knew she was cheating on you, didn't you ?" I asked him. He didn't look at me, he kept looking at the stars and I did too.

It's a sight to behold. The countless stars gazing on you and leaving you mesmerized is a feeling you can't get in the city and secretly I was grateful to Xavier for bringing me here.

He shrugged and gave a sigh, " You're never gonna back down without a fight."

"As much as I hate it, you know me better Xavier."

He picked on the grass and looked at me, " I do"

"Guess we're both not going to answer questions, huh" I said, a small smile creeping into my face.

"Guess not" he replied with a smirk.

Sometimes, I wish I could go back to how things were. Before everything changed, before - -

" Do you know what happens when we go back ?" his voice brings me out of my thoughts again.

Thoughts I don't want to go deep into anymore.

"Maybe, I won't go back" I say, with a sly smile. I knew what I was going to do. I had planned it, it's not some kind of a spur in the moment decision to return as Gossip Girl.

This is just the beginning. The best is yet to come.

"So you're never going to come back ? It sounds ridiculous" his words make me laugh a little. This might be the most genuine laugh I've laughed in these few years.

"No, I'm just gonna take off for a little while until things clear down for a bit"

Who the hell was I kidding ?Things were not going to clear, they were going to get messed up even more. I knew I couldn't be absent the whole , but I did not want to join in the real drama from the beginning.

"Clear out, huh ? You're asking me to believe that this is your first and last blow as the gossip girl !!" he said chuckling and I couldn't laugh.

I wasn't kidding when I said that he knew me better.

"Where am I going to drop you off ?" he asked me, his eyes glinting in mischief and curiosity.

"Let's enjoy the moment now, Xav. I'll tell you later. "

"Of Course" he agreed.

Olive's POV

My phone beeped and I saw that it was a mail. A ticket and a letter from Veronica.

Hey Olive,

V here. If you're reading this, then I'm sure my plan has succeeded and also I'm not in the house right now. It has been a long time since we took a vacation and this is a perfect opportunity for one. There is a ticket for Paris and I'll see you at the airport tomorrow morning at 7:45 am. I know you'll be there. Pack sufficiently.Don' t worry about me. I've got everything ready. See ya

I smiled at her message, sighing inwardly that I've got very less time to pack,but thankfully I've got a visa. No wonder she wanted an extended visa for Europe.

Well, Paris here we come.
