The police had arrived at 1am in the morning knocking and ringing our door bell which my mom and dad had rushed down to the door indicating i guess they had known what was going on. Walking diwb the stairs but not any further, just so i could her what was going on.
"ok ma'am,' i heard the police officer say. ' You wouldn't have had by any chance seen what the man looked like would you?'
"No sir."
This is the chance i took to speak up.
"I took a picture of him before i heard sneakers running away, " i say holding up my blue samsung flip phone. (ok i know that will be weird, but this is past tense so yeah)
"Well, why dont you come down here and show me?" The officer asks with an impressed yet a confused look on his face, kind of like my parents. So i fully walk down the stairs, getting off the warm carpet and on to the cold hardwood floor, then showing the officer and my parents the photo. "Hmmm.. this is a very nice shot of the guy! Nice work!'
"Thank you," i say shyly.
"Mr. and Ms. Robinson, would you mind if i took...." He pauses looking and pointing at me.
"Hayley."
"Yes, Hayley, down to the station to ask her a few questions?" He asks now looking at my parents.
"Sure, but is it ok if we come with? We wouldnt want her to be alone," My mom states.
"Yeah for sure! I'll just give you guys a ride there to the station," The officer says smiling, then turning around and heading to his cruiser, as my mom, dad, and i put on our shoes still in our pj's.
"Wait," My mom stops. "What about Toby? We can leave him alone Bradley."
"Oh shoot! Well why dont you stay home and look and after him and ill go with Hayley, alright?'
"Ok. Just be safe you too," My mom says putting her shoes back in the closet as my dad and i leave the house and mom closes the door when we start to head for the cruiser where the officer was waiting patiently.
We got in the car and were off to the station.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
When we got to the station we headed to a room that was..... awfully messy. Files, paper and writing untensils everywhere. Then when he offers us to sit down in the two brown chairs across from a brown desk i notice that there is a name tag on the front of his desk that says 'Officer James Ferrero' I'm guessing thats his name. Duh.
He asked me lots of questions that I'm to tired to even repeat. I mean hey, wouldn't you be tired if you were doing lots of socials homework and stayed up till 1 in the morning watching youtube videos and then all of the sudden theres a mass murder outside of your house? I think you would.
One of his questions though, really got me scared with what happened in the continution in the conversation.
"Did he happen to see you at all?"
"Yes. I had just gotten up of my bedroom floor from taking the picture out of my patio window, i looked out one more time and we linked eyes for one quick second but that was it and i closed my curtains as soon as it happened."
"Hmm ok. Well i will let you go now, but i should warn you about something." Oh no. " Since this guy knows what you look like. We are afraid he might come after you."
"Oh..."
"But dont be worried because theres a high chance he wont. But i think you should go home now so that you can get some rest its pretty early."
"yeah thanks." i say as me and my dad pick up our stuff and stand up heading out the door, back to the cruiser after the officer agreed to give us a ride back.
When we got home i just ignored what was going on and just went inside and up to my room and completely crashed on my bed.
