The next days were awful and I had a huge hangover and I felt like I had the flu. But the vomiting went away and my eyes looked semi normal, just a bit purple all around them. Shannon called me thug for the longest time.
When I was down for a long time recovering I really could barely see and I tried to be extra gentle with Katy to show her that I'm not some crazy aggressive dude.

Today were going to meet her family, at her parents house for a BBQ. I've meet them before just not all of them. At the same time, So I'm kind of nervous/ embarrassed especially now that it have a bruised eye.

I leaned in closer to the mirror examining my eye.

"Don't worry my parents love you already." Katy said from behind me.

And your dad?

"Yeah"

Okay..should we stop and bring anything?

"I already got us some drinks to bring over."

Okay, so we should probably get going then huh?

"Yeah, let's get going."she said picking up butters and sliding into the car.

Okay then let's do this.

When we pull into the neighborhood I can definitely tell which house is there's. They have a ton of cars parked everywhere, crowding the streets.

Finally we get a parking spot up the street.

As we're walking butters runs up the street and katy chases after him in her bright yellow sundress. It's quite a sight, and I just stand here like an idiot taking it all in.

When she returns, this time holding butters in her arms.

"John just don't overthink things, plus they already love you."

Alright then I'll try not too I say laughing.

Are we going to tell them?

"About what?"

Well, Maybe we should start out by saying were engaged.

"Sure!, just let me do it when the times right to break the news."

Okay I'll just follow your lead then. I say taking her hand in mine.

We reach the front door, and katy rings the doorbell.

It opens and Katy's mom opens the door for us.

"Katherine!" she embraces her in a huge hug.

"Mom!"

"Oh Katherine I've missed you so much, I'm so glad you came!"

she turns towards me, who's just awkwardly standing in the doorway holding a bottle of wine.

"John!"she embraced me as well.

Mary nice to see you again.

She looked at me questionably.

Probably looking at my bruised eye.

"Here let me take that from you, everyone's out back."

I followed katy through the house to the backyard.

Her father was grilling and her sister and husband were holding there baby at the table next to her brother David.

"Katy!" Angelia shouted. She gave her baby to her husband and got up and ran to her.
