Chapter three

Xanders pov

Sitting on Klerise outside my sisters palace I stare at my bow "ready to go?" Hearing Tempest ask I see jinx stood behind her with a skeptical eye, nodding she climbs behind me on Klerise "see you whenever, Jinx." I whisper, racing off out of the kingdom, I stare intensely at the path we're racing down pushing down the feeling of disaster I furrow my brows "Your really quiet.."she murmurs, resting my chin on my forearm I shrug "didn't sleep well."I lie threw my teeth, Klerise yawning I scratch behind his ear "how long till we get to capital?"She asks, shrugging I swallow my words, looking at the spire which is placed directly in the centre of  the kingdom.

Arriving at the gate I'm stopped by a guard "oh..! My apologises king Xander" he bows to me, Klerise continuing to walk through the streets of the large city, eyes on me and Tempest we are taken to the palace of my father and mother. Climbing off of my companion I help Tempest down "stay out here." I say holding my hand up me and Klerise continue to walk into the throne room. My eyes locking with my father he stands "Xander, what a surprise." He laughs, furrowing my brows I stand in the centre of the room Ritzinair resting in my hand "as the king of the fifth kingdom and the first born son, I find it disrespectful that Elliot, Athena and Haley come into my kingdom and tell me how to live my life. As of now, I leave my admins in charge of the kingdom whilst I go hunting for someone." I say, my dad going to say something a explosion is heard outside the palace, sprinting towards the doors with Klerise I look at the smoke leading to the palace stairs, tempest missing I hold Ritzinair tightly "Xander, Xander, Xander...its not polite to draw a sword at someone you once knew."Staring at the black haired male I lower my sword "Guy."I chuckle, my father appearing behind me with rows of guards I see tempest stood behind him with three others "come with me." Looking at him I look at Klerise, nodding I climb on the wolves back, racing off with them all.

Crouching beside the fire I stare at the group in front of me, tempest hidden behind them all I look at guy who's speaking with a white haired male "Xander."Looking at guy he holds his hand out, knocking it away he chuckles "we're heading back to base at dawn, will you be joining us?" He asks, standing I look at Malcom who's chewing up a stray sheep "can't. I have to look for someone" I say standing I walk over to my companion, stroking his side I hear a snap over to my left, drawing my sword I run to the noise, dropping to all fours occasionally I wrap my legs around it's head turning it onto its back I hold my sword to their throat "BOSS!" She shouts, guy running over he looks at me "she's one of mine" he says, letting her go she stands, her purple hair falling over her left eye she stares at me "it's Him" she breaths, standing I walk back to Klerise.

Laying on my back with my cape covering my eyes I feel a pair of eyes on me, staying still i continue to feel as if I'm being watched, clenching my hand around Ritzinair I hear someone move, jumping I push them to the floor, straddling whoever it is I place my sword against their neck I look at the person I had pinned down, surprised at Tempest I place my sword above her head "it's dangerous to watch someone with Instincts as sharp as a dragons sleep" I murmur, glancing around at everyone else sleeping I look back down at her "why are you still awake?" I ask, standing off of her she sits up "when I'm with Guy and Eric and everyone else I'm always made to watch over them all" she whispers, shaking my head I throw her my cape "get some rest me and Klerise will watch" I say, my eyes fierce.

Sitting beside my companion as he sleeps, my spear resting between my knees I watch as the sun rises, looking at them all I pick tempest's sleeping body up, climbing onto Klerise we race off towards the eighth kingdom. Looking at the fully risen sun I look down at Tempest still asleep in my lap her head resting on my forearm, watching as she shudders awake I cock an eyebrow "morning"I chuckle, the brunette jolting up she looks around, still sat on my lap "where's guy..." she breaths, looking at me I laugh "like as hell I was gonna stay with him, I know he wants me for my powers." I chuckle, stopping directly in front of a river, Klerise drops down to his stomach.

Piercing a deer I drag it over to where Tempest is sitting, sharpening a spear she pulls the dagger that's rested on my right boot, beginning to skim the deer i furrow my brows "what are you gonna use that for?" I ask, holding the dead animal over a fire "you expect us to hunt dragons without any armour" she murmurs, laughing I throw the leg of the deer at her "I don't need armour" I chuckle, looking at her she scowls at me "suit yourself." She snaps, biting into the deer I watch her struggle to make armour, placing the food on a leaf I walk over to her "come here your doing it all wrong" I say, taking the gear from her, sowing it to her shirt I brush it off, showing another piece on top for extra protection I repeat it over and over, finishing she looks at me "for a king you know how to survive In the wild"she teases, laughing I continue to eat the deer "being obsessed with hunting dragons since the age of 10 forces you to learn those traits" I say hugging Klerise I throw the rest of the deer in his mouth.

Stopping outside a cave I glance around, pulling a tree over to cover the entrance I light a branch with piles of cloth wrapped around it, laying on my cape I look at Tempest who's fiddling with the armour "so you were like their lackey?" I ask, her yellow eyes locking in with my scarlet ones "I guess... they took me in at an early age.." she sighs, sitting up I furrow my brows "You know you don't owe your life for them." Upon saying this she looks at me, sadness drowning in her eyes i sigh laying back down I close my eyes "get some sleep, trust me, you'll need it" I whisper, rubbing her hand before falling asleep.
