Wishing for Help

   (Sonia's POV)

8:45 P.M.

    I heard the front door open from our home. I knew exactly who it was. It was my papa. I pretended to look sound asleep. As he carries both Manik and I to our rooms. Very quickly I took a peek at him. He looked melancholic. I was lied down last after Manik. He covered me with blankets and kissed my forehead goodnight.

    As he sealed the door halfway closed I followed silently in shallow footsteps behind him. He didn't notice because he was in his own thoughts.

    As I hid by the stair way, he mumbled a few words before he went to sleep on the counter snoring. He said something about wishing he had more time to be free and happy with me and Manik.
    
    I felt bad for our daddy, he doesn't even smile. He may smile at times ,but that's always forced to make us feel good. He used to be so full of life with momma. He needs a new wife. A girlfriend, maybe even a mommy for me and Manik!
    
      I then smiled. "Daddy, momma would be happy if you were happy with a new mommy." I whispered. I then went to our closet to get papa a blanky. I then covered him in warmth and spoke my last words.

    "I wish we were happy all over again ,so you wouldn't have to work so much. I would love to have a new momma,dad." And off I went back to my room.

(Sonic's POV)

   Ugh, what a night! My head hurts from yesterday's gardening. Some women kept on telling me to move her sunflowers from one place to the other until I got it right.
  
     I looked at the time, it was almost 7:30 A.M.! I panicked by running all over the house and knocked on each of my kids doors. "Kids! Wake up! Schools gonna start in 5 minutes!"
Out of the blue, they had their clothes on and everything!

    "Good. Now let me run both of you to school!" we marched out the house. We didn't have time to eat or make breakfast and our lunch.I picked them up and off we were.

    "We're on time! Kids hurry!" They did so ,and waved goodbye. I was so mind blown at what I saw. Why was Manik smiling for real? Did something happen that I didn't know?

    I ignored it,and rushed to my grocery shift.
  
    I arrived with my uniform on. "Mr. The Hedgehog! You're late! This is coming out of your paycheck!" I then apologized leaving a cranky boss of mine. His name is Mr. Skunk.

    After, that was my gardening job which was a different person this time. It was my old buddy Tails'!

     "Sonic! It's so nice to finally meet you!" He then hugged me. "Yeah, longtime no see." We spoke about our lives. I even told him about Sal's death. "Sonic, I'm so sorry. However, Sonic, you can't work to much, your gonna waste your time without your children with you."

    "I know Tails'....but I can't just ,not pay the rent,or anything. I need to work so I can pay everything for my children." He then understood. "Things began to go hard on ya even with the death of Sally, huh?" I teared up.

     "Yes.... I'm lonely without no one to love me. I'm stuck doing lots of jobs!.... I can't even...spend time with my children, Tails'!!!" I was crying so hard.

    "Sonic, maybe there's someone who may one day change that. Just, wait and see. You'll be smiling with your new significant other. Your kids will too." That made me feel better. He also patted my back for support.
  
    "Thanks. I appreciate the help, bud. Now, what do you want me to sculpt?" "Well, I want to make a surprise for cream, maybe a topiary of me and her hugging?" "Sure."

    We then went to his garden and I began my sculpting skills.
