BRITNEY PLEETH

IT WAS ETHAN CALLING, as his contact was 'Daddy E'—not my personal doing—. i haven't spoken to him since our encounter that happened a couple of days ago.

i roll my eyes before pressing the green button, reluctantly.

"hey, hot babe." he coos. his voice is raspy almost as if he just woke up, fuck. that's one of my many weaknesses, a boy who just woke up. i feel my lady parts tingle and I have to calm myself down.

"what do you want, Ethan?" i sigh and in response, he chuckles.

his laugh was hot, the deepness of his voice seeping through the speaker and i felt flustered. he knew what he was doing.

"ooh a hot babe with an attitude. extra hot."

i get up from my couch and go into my kitchen. "Ethan, you call me and you're not even telling me what you want?" i wasn't really annoyed but i have to keep up the act and pretend i was bothered.

i place the phone between my shoulder and my ear, starting to raid through my fridge.

"fine, i want you to come over." he simply says.

my heart beats irregularly and i bite back my smile. my heart screams 'yes!' but i keep my composure and keep on my charade.

"uh no thanks, i'm busy." i lie straight through my teeth.

"oh so you're at work then?"

i pause. i know i don't have work since it's a Saturday but i really don't want to leave my apartment so i hesitate on whether to lie or not. i take the plunge without thinking.

"yeah i am." i fib. i finish raiding my fridge, now realising i literally have nothing in it apart from some ketchup and milk.

"did you just lie, baby girl?" i practically hear his smile through the phone and i hate it.

fuck, fuck, fuck.

i cough intentionally, "i'm sorry, what do you mean?" i know exactly what he means and i know i've been caught like an idiot.

"before i took my long ass nap, i checked in the morning if you were there..." he pauses and my breath hitches. "and you weren't."

"okay i lied, i just don't want to come to your house." i shrug even though he can't see me.

i wouldn't actually mind actually going to his house, but i'm not that type of girl to do that type of thing when hardly knowing someone.

he groans, his voice resonating through the speaker. "baby girl, don't be like this."

i smile at myself, i've somehow taken a liking to his new nickname for me. "i don't really know you..." i drag out.

even though he didn't know me either, he somehow wanted me—a stranger— to stay at his house. boys are weird.

"i just want you to be here, keep me company. i'm bored as fuck."

i feel as if i should continue my contemplating but if i do, this conversation will just continue for even longer. or i could just hang up. but then he'd just keep calling. wow, none of these outcomes end up with me being left alone. how great.

"hmm, do you have food?" i bite my lip.

he chuckles, "babe, of course i do. i didn't just check the store to see if you're there, i got some stuff while i was there."

"okay what's your address?"

"it's just the apartment building right next to the store. my door number is 45."
