My grandma has always told me that I have a privileged life. She told me my parents have raised me so I will never experience pain and suffering. Even on her death bed, the last thing she told me was "Dakota, the pain you'll feel from losing me is nothing compared to other people's pain". My mom had always told me to not listen to her. "She was old and her brain wasn't working correctly" my mother would say. I believed my mom when she said losing Grandma would be the worst pain and heartache I would feel. Or at least I did until the third Monday of September.
