Star was sitting far off, away from the party, starring cooly at Moon. Ironic, how their names practically fit together perfectly. Star dreamily looked at her. Her hair was a striking shade of blue, her whole outfit was blue actually. The light bounced off of her skin, giving her an almost purple tint. She was nervously standing in the door frame, almost like she was thinking about leaving the room, the other people leaving her alone.
She wore a dark blue cardigan, and dark blue tie, and white button down shirt and jeans that fit an 80s aesthetic. Star chuckled at that. Moon was always complaining that her jeans were too ripped or too tight, but she personally thought they fit like a glove and hugged her body in all the right places. She blushed and cursed at herself for how much she was attracted to her, Moon. Star's best friend.
She sighed, and brought her red solo cup up to her lips, and tipped it back, but to Star's dismay, it was empty. She sighed and walked to the punch bowl and noticed something. Above Moon's head was a deep green plant. A mistletoe. Her eyes darted back to Moon and the plant. It was like a light bulb appeared over Star's head.
Star's irritated grimmance slowly melted into a sly smile as she walked up to the door frame and strided behind Moon.
"Hey, miss Blue" She said mockingly. Moon's nervousness turned into annoyance.
"Don't call me that." She said, rolling her eyes. She was scratching her arm when suddenly, Star grabbed her wrist with one hand and reached up to Moon's chin with the other, pointing her into the direction of the plant hanging above them.
"What are you doing?!" Moon nearly shouted, trying to slap Star's movements away.
"But Moooony look!" She said with a smirk.
"Wha- Oh" Her look of annoyance switched to anxiousness in an instant, her normally brown face turning a dark red in several seconds. Flustered, she stopped fidgeting with Star's hands to get them away.
"Yo-you don't actually want a-a kiss? Do you? Are you just messing aro-around?" Moon said, her voice shaking. She refused to believe it was true. No one thought she was attractive, people bullied her for stuttering and being anxious. She really couldn't believe it.
She fidgeted with her hands before taking a deep breath and looking at Star's smug face.
Except it wasn't as smug as it was before, it had almost a kindness and attractiveness that wasn't there before.
"I don't have all day do you want to engage in tradition or not" Star loudly asked.
Maybe the smugness was still there.
"Alright, sure." Moon said cooly.
Surprised, Star closed her eyes and leaned forward, Moon also leaning in. She could feel Moon's breath on her lips, almost feel her nose against her cheek, she could feel the warmth of her cheek. She prepared herself, only for Moon to grab her head, and moving the side of Star's had to her lips, pecking her cheekbone.
"Wha-That wasn't a real kiss!" Star said disappointed.
