Age 14

I never saw that boy after that day years ago.. I only confided in my brother of the short meeting. Even now he teases me and says the tree had sent me a soul mate who watched over me as an angel just with hair and skin. He never left my mind either. Had he grown? Surely he was real...but did he change? I remember being memorized by his eyes. They shined brighter than the sun, with specks of adventure that I so longed to have myself.

"Seri are you going to the forest today now that your finished with school?" Axel asked.

I nodded.

He followed after me with a nervous smile, one I hadn't seen until now.

School had finished last week and I had been to my sanctuary to go back and have peace I didn't during the whole year. Being in a classroom filled with rumors and secrets and talkative girls who babble all day isn't exactly fun.

Axel seemed to like it though, he was popular with everyone like I was. But us as differences, he was popular for the way he spoke and looked., I was in the crowd for my personality and looks, by the boys anyway. Of course they never told me in person, Axel watched every single one of them around my presence closely.

"Are you alright? Your different today. Quiet." I looked over my should at Axel who rubbed his arm with his hand.

"I'm fine Seri really. I just get this feeling all the time that someone is watching me." I stopped walking to let him catch up. We walked on, in silence thinking deeply. Being watched? How strange!

"How so?" I finally blurted. He stopped once we reached the forest entrance. The dark cavern by a log nearby created a somewhat creepy alter for us. I loved it either way.

"That boy you said you saw.. Do you remember what he looked like?" he said staring ahead.

"Yes! Well but I'm sure he's older now."

"Describe him Seri. I may have..seen him."

I took off my flats, holding them between my right hand.

"He had bright blue eyes and brown hair. The same color as chestnuts but .. His jaw was so defined, like Brady's from English hour. He was up in a tree when he called me princess." I smiled. "He looked so happy even up in that tall tree far from the ground he showed no fear."

"Why do you look like that?" Axel asked suspiciously. I turned my back toward the forest to stare at him in confusion.

"Like what?"

"You.. look like a love struck puppy!" He exclaimed, somewhat in disbelief. I waved my hand at him, annoyed with his behavior. These past few weeks he's been either really nice or keeping to himself snapping at you if you ask why.

"Do not call me that Axel! I do no such thing!" I shouted.

The trees blew, the air whistled for me to come further into the forest so I did. Axel followed after but kept silent. "You want to know why I am like this Seri? I shall tell you, but you cannot spread it."

I shrugged, wanting to know but if I didn't look so excited maybe he would tell me more. He sighed, "I.. Do you know Tessa?"

I froze. "You like her don't you?"

He nodded. "I suppose but it's nothing except a measly crush I tell you!" he shook his head with wide eyes holding his hands out in front of him as if I would hit him. Even though I didn't know much about the girl, I gave him a smile.
