My name is violet lasting and today is my last day to be me.Ever since the age of 13 I have stayed in the dormitories waiting to be sold.I long to see my family but in order for them to be safe we must keep our distance.Though we are the most poorest we all have the strange genetics to change things ,they call it auries we can change things and sometimes mold them but none of us can lasts long before we start coughing and spitting blood.I am 3rd in class which means I'll go to a better home to the richest,the cruelest.
"Hurry and light the candles before it's too late violet"ravens says as I lit the candles.Every year we risk setting of the transmitter just to celebrate my sister's birthdays.We both know the pain of not seeing our family ,the only happy memories.
We smile to each other knowing that tomorrow is our last day free and I wish to spend with the people I love before I am lot 197.I won't forget her,I mustn't forget.Maybe this could be a new start?
