The rain is falling, making soft tapping noises on my roof. I take a deep breath, the air is as cold as the window I lay next to. My breath mists it, making my reflection fade to white. I touch my index finger to it, and slowly draw a small heart. I hear footsteps creaking down the stairs, and my heart beat quickens. My breath is visible as the creaking gets louder. He isn't what he seems. He isn't human. No one believes me! No one can see it but me! The creaking stops, and I hear the door being opened, and He comes in. My guardian. His eyes reflect concern, but I know better. I have to look behind his cold blue eyes. He is the Devil's aide. I shiver as the temperature continues to steadily drop. He smiles his dead, inhuman smile, "So Danielle. How does it feel to be so close to Hell?" he asked, his voice smooth as silk, but as sharp as a razor. I could practically feel his voice cutting across my skin. He chuckled at my cringing, "Good. I'm glad to see you're comfortable." he walked closer, and I felt fear beginning to twist my chest, and i closed my eyes, "Don't. Touch. Me." I managed through clenched teeth. He chuckled again as his mentor walked in. He was worse by far. He had olive toned skin with pale grey hair that covered his eyes. I'd much rather be bugged by Slade than Gabe. Gabe sighed, "What have I told you about toying with your food?" Gabe wasn't afraid to show his demonic side. He had small hints of what he truly was with his eye color and mind control. But here, he let his horns and tail be seen clear as day. Gabe and Slade were only two of my four guards. Well...prison keepers. See, I'm one of Athena's hunters. I shot the wrong person with my arrow, then I killed him because he tried killing me. So then, they kidnapped me. And Athena tried too many tomes to get me back, but sadly, all of her hunters...even the best of the best, failed. Because they couldn't solve the riddle of the dead. They have their souls taken if they cannot solve the riddle. Personally, I'd just have walked on, but those are just thoughts. I know well we are bound by duty, honor and all that other stuff. So, back to my current situation. Gabe and Slade. Both bad buggars. I shivered as they both spoke. The temperature kept falling, and my teeth began to chatter. Slade was a frost demon, and Gabe was a silver cutter. A silver cutter is basically a demon who can steal living souls. And souls, by nature, are silver. Hence the name. I tried to bite back a whimper from the frozen temperature, but it slipped. Gabe chuckled, but was silenced by another demon guard. His name was Nathanial. He was a strange one. He rarely spoke. And when he did, it was usually to me. He was very different than the others. He actually pitied me. Which was dangerous. I kinda trusted him, but I was wary of him. He had pale brown skin and jet black hair. His eyes were a deep emerald green. As he walked in, the temperature finally rose. "Stop trying to freeze the girl." He never addressed me by my name. Gabe hissed, his eyes darkening. Along with them, my body felt frozen and I groaned, my skin turning blue. Nate growled and Gabe gasped, his hands flying to his neck. He looked at him hatefully, "Fine.." I gasped as my blood rushed through my veins. I was near tears, and I coughed bad. My entire body was sore. Nate kneeled in front of me and I trembled a bit. I didn't know what kind of demon could do that, so naturally I was terrified. His eyes didn't seem to hold any ill fortune, but I still felt my chest being twisted. I clenched my teeth as I felt him beginning to squeeze my lungs. I tried to bite back a whimper, but it escaped from shock. I began gasping agonizingly as the constriction continued. I fell off of the small lounge chair, my hands flying to my neck as it continually got harder to breath. Nate chuckled darkly as the last guard came in. I was writhing on the ground gasping for air, and he put his hand on Nate's shoulder. He snorted and got up as I felt my lungs expand again, and i coughed badly, gasping. I felt tears fall from my cheeks, and the last guard looked at me, "You mortals amuse me." I hissed at him, and he chuckled. I felt a burning sensation deep inside my chest, and I went silent, trembling. The last guard smirked and pat my cheek, "I thought so." I was mortified. He just made me kneel like some kind of guard dog! I looked away, still shaking. This guard was probably the worst out of all of the demons who were assigned to watch me. His name was Angel. I found his name to be very ironic to what his job and duty was. He was the devil's right hand. Basically, he was the devil's favorite. Anyways, he had olive toned skin, black hair and grey eyes. I growled quietly as the four discussed the plan for my switch for an old demon master who used to serve the devil. I sighed and crawled back onto the lounge chair. It was going to be a long day
