"Get back here, Subject 15!"
I laughed as I came to a giant window. Spreading my wings, I took to the sky and broke the window, glass getting caught in my legs. Ignoring the pain, I listened as the scientists frantically called for me to come back.
But they all knew I would never come back.
I flew around in the sky, smiling widely as I finally took in all my surroundings. "The outside world is so breathtaking..." I muttered to myself as I flew higher and did a flip.
I finally landed on a cliff, miles away from the "School". I looked at the glass in my legs and pulled it out, wincing slightly. I watched as my injuries bled. Shrugging it off, I looked down at my clothes. They were dirty and filthy. Seeing a town, I smiled as I hid my wings and ran there.
And that's how my journey began.
