Chapter 7 " Name Tag "
Days passed as Ashley took care of the kitten. It keeps her mind preoccupied to even think about unnecessary curiosities. She always visits it everyday after class. She fed it and played with it until it became tired and sleeps. She doesn't give it baths she just watches as it licks it's fur and cleans itself. It became a daily routine for her to do.
After class, Ashley went to the convenience store as usual to buy the kitten some milk. She went to the nearby park where the kitten was. She went near and notice that the kitten was already drinking a freshly opened carton of milk. It was similar to the one she bought at the nearby convenience store. She looked around but there was no sign of anyone. She ignored it and waited for the kitten to finish the milk. She played with it until it fell asleep. "See you tomorrow." she gave it one last pat and walked home. Lucy had been busy with club activities so they couldn't walk together. She is preparing for a volleyball competition.

Ashley woke up and looked at the mirror. She examined her facial features carefully. "Okay... wake up!" she slapped both her cheeks and flinched out of pain. Well at least she's awake. She prepared for almost an hour and a half just to get ready. She went down and greeted her parents. "Good morning mom! Good morning dad!" she kissed their cheeks and sat down at the dining table. Her dad was reading the newspaper and her mom was busy arranging some of the sketches for their new clothing line. She opened the tv to watch the weather forecast. The news got her attention.
*Good morning! Rise and shine people! Be extra careful today. Make sure you wear thick clothes and boots. We will have a fair share of rain later this afternoon.* the news caster said eagerly. ' I'll just have to get home early today. ' she let out a sigh. "Princess, how's school?" her mom asked "It's okay. I have friends now?" sure Lucy and Kevin were her friends but Roxanne and Nick? She was not so sure. "Goodie. Invite them sometime. I wanna meet them." her mom clapped her hands "Okay! Bye princess were going to the company." her mom kissed her cheek "Have a good day!" her dad kissed her cheek too. They left and Charles drove Ashley to school.

Lucy spotted Ashley walking at the hallway "Ashley!" she called out and ran towards her to give her a bear-hug. Ashley gave her a big smile in return. "Hey! What happened? I haven't seen you in like forever." she hugged her back. "Training was tiring as usual! We even finished late yesterday." Lucy said in a lazy tone. "Well at least I'm free now!" they linked arms and went to their class. They saw Nick entering the class. Ashley hid behind Lucy and hoped he didn't notice her but it was too late. He stopped at the door. He turned around and blocked the door with his arm. "What do we have here?" he looked at her.
"Come on don't be scared I won't bite." she came out of hiding and straightened herself. She realized that it was no use in hiding. "Excuse me we want to pass." she said avoiding his stare "I won't let you pass unless you ask politely~" he hummed "Please." she said as she tried to contain her anger "Screw that. What's with the rush babe?" he smirked still blocking their way. "You know what? I don't know why you're bugging me but cut it out." she said irritation clear in her tone "Why? I'm joying this. Aren't you?" he sheepishly asked "Isn't it obvious?" she mumbled "What was it again? I thought you were speaking to ants." he watched as she struggled to keep her composure "Oh well! I'm happy you understand each other." he said sarcastically.
"That's weird? Did your voice suddenly disappear?" she couldn't think of any snob remarks to get back at him. She wasn't used to it anyway so she just blurted out the first thing that came to mind when she noticed that he brought two umbrellas "I'm weird? Tell it to a person holding two umbrellas. Aww too big to fit in just one?" she threw back at him "Who said this was all for me?" he said raising his left eye brow. "Okay. That's enough cool those heads class is starting." Lucy went between them and dragged Ashley inside when Nick finally moved out of the way "Lucy I really can't stand him! He's so immature." Ashley said walking towards her seat "I know. I know." Lucy patted her back and proceeded to her seat.
