Elizabeth walked up the steps of her new household on Lucius Dr. She was not expecting to find no knocker, or door ringer or anything at the door. She knocked. Her knuckles cringed slightly. "Hello?" She called as if it would help. The coachman, now up and non-stoic, pointed to his pocket watch he was holding. She held up a finger nervously, and knocked again. "Hello in there?"

Finally the door opened. A boy, maybe 14 or 15 answered. Obviously a servant. "Are you the Miss' companion?"

"Yes, I am. May you show me to her and her family please?"

"You're awaited in the drawing room." He pointed down the hall, to two closed doors. Elizabeth held her parasol tightly, nodded, and walked to the back. She opened the door, and who she supposed to be Henrietta's brother, Harland, his wife, Minerva, and Jane, who sat knitting a sample.

"Hello! You must be Elizabeth...Elizabeth...Prawn wasn't it?"

"Yes Mister Moggs." She shook his hand politely. He led her to an arm chair seated next to Jane's, and Minerva sat next to him on the sofa.

"Okay, Jane, say hello." Minerva said just as polite as Elizabeth herself.

"No thank you." Jane began to knit ferociously fast. Elizabeth wanted to pull the needles from her scrawny little hands.

"It wasn't a question dear, it was a statement."

"Fine. Hello Miss Prawn." Jane sighed. She was not very happy about this, about having an ugly uptight companion. She put down her needles. "I'm Jane Moggs, as you should know."

"Hello Jane."

"Huh." Jane stared at Elizabeth, and Elizabeth stared right back in her eyes. Jane gave up. She didn't like not having her power.
