A Blast From the Past

“It’s…. you” she said as she recognized the 15 year old that almost killed her brother 13 years ago and that has haunted her every day since.

She dropped the chocolate covered strawberry into her plate out of shock, which he immediately got and took a huge bite of the juicy strawberry while looking at her the whole time. Princess Aria was trying to not freak out and looked at her surroundings for help, which there was none. “No need to be frightened” he said mockingly as he grabbed her chin and made her look at him directly in his icy blue eyes.

She whimpered and tried to look away, which he did not let her do. He suddenly chuckled and let her chin go and instead put his hand through his hazel blonde hair. She looked at what seemed like the image of perfection except for his cold mocking eyes. She hated him for it. ‘Why is he so handsome, yet such a cruel person?’ she thought as she stared at his perfect toned yet slender figure in fear.

“I see that you like what you see” he said lustily and smirked, his mind running with a million things he wanted to do to her in that moment.

She shivered and hugged herself as she looked around and hoped that somebody, anybody would notice. No such luck though. “Anyways, my name is Jax, but you probably already knew that.” Jax said mockingly.

“Please… leave me alone” Aria pleaded.

“I can’t your father invited me”

Aria froze when she realized what he meant. “Oh no.. do you mean you are….” she said close to tears.

“Yes sweetie, I am one of the candidates for your future husband. Your poor father doesn’t realize he has just thrown his daughter into the lion’s den. Where I will make you my plaything” he said with false sweetness.

“How can’t I,” he continued “ when you look more and more beautiful every day. You are a perfect queen if I ever did see. A perfect queen for a perfect king. I will rule by your side someday, you like it or not.” Jax said snarling the last few words.

As Princess Aria whimpered helplessly Jax suddenly started laughing warmly and said “Nice to meet you Princess Aria. You are even lovelier than what I imagined”

Aria looked at him with fear and confusion when she then felt a familiar and warm hand on her shoulder. “And who are you?” Hunter said suspiciously as he gripped her shoulder to comfort her. He sensed something was wrong, but he didn’t know what.

Jax didn’t miss what Hunter was doing and saw his hand gripping Aria’s tense shoulder tightly. He then smiled a smile that didn’t reach his dangerous icy-blue eyes. “I am Jaxon Herald, the prince of Nordengale.” he said as he bowed mockingly.

At this, Hunter analyzed him and decided that he wasn’t somebody to trust. There was something odd with Jaxon and he was determined to know what.

“I am here for a private matter with the princess” he smirked as he winked playfully at her.

The princess tried to gather herself and only calmed herself down enough to say a shaky “If you guys will excuse me, I-I have to go”

Aria then shook off Hunter’s hand from her shoulder and almost ran to the ladies’ rest room.

The guys looked at her retreating back one with his eyes full of lust and the other with worry. Hunter then turned around and faced the strange prince. “I don’t know what you did to her, but I want you to stay away from her. I don’t care that you are royalty, I WILL kill you if you do anything to her.” Hunter stated seriously with a glint in his eyes.

“Sorry I didn’t know the princess had a boyfriend,” Prince Jax said mockingly as he bowed “I have to go socialize now. Goodbye my dear friend.”

Jax then turned around and walked away towards Aria’s father. ‘I don’t know what you are planning, but whatever it is I will be ready’ Hunter thought and then went to go look for Aria.

Meanwhile in the ladies’ rest room

“I can’t… I can’t” Princess Aria repeated as she cried in one of the many stalls.

“I don’t want to please” she sobbed as she heard somebody enter.

She immediately went quiet and listened hard. All she heard was a pair of heels clicking on the marble floor and girls giggling.  “Did you see that cute guy outside” one of the girls said dreamily.

“Shush Daniela you will mess me up” another girl said bossily.

“Okay” the girl named Daniela whimpered.

Aria waited until they were gone then finally got out of the stall. ‘I have to make sure nobody sees me like this. They might ask questions’ Princess Aria said as she took of the streaky mascara and applied some more.

Aria sighed and looked at herself in the mirror to inspect herself and nodded when she was pleased that she didn’t look like she had been crying. She then walked out of the ladies rest room and immediately saw someone she wanted to avoid. “Oh man” Aria muttered to herself and started walking the other direction, away from the person calling out to her.

AN: Hey guys, Alexa here! I'm so sorry that I hadn't updated in a loooooong while because I was really busy with last minute projects (damn you teachers) and finals. I know it's late, but I hope you guys had a happy holiday😊. I am really trying to enjoy this winter break cause this is the only one where my teachers haven't given me any homework (YUSSSSS).
