The dim streetlight emerging from a gap in the curtains illuminated the bare room and the young girl curled up on the bed.

Knock. Knock. Knock. There was a soft knocking at the door.

The girl sniffled and twisted her dark plait but didn't move towards the door she stared across the room at.

Knock. Knock. Knock. The knocking became louder.

The girl closed her eyes.

Creek! The door opened, letting in a bright beam of light and a teenage girl leant around the door. "Bo?" she whispered. "Bo, it's Lexi." Bo sniffled and kept her eyes closed. Lexi sighed and entered the room, firmly shutting the door behind her. She padded towards the crying girl and sat gingerly on the edge of the bed. "Bo," she said, "Bo, I'm sorry about your parents..." Bo started to cry softly. "I'm sure everything's going to be-" "No." Bo whispered firmly between sobs. The young girl opened her eyes and sat up. "Don't you dare Lexi Lancaster, don't you dare say everything's gonna be okay, because it isn't. Don't you see?" she whispered, "Now they're ... Gone," she stuttered, "I'm gonna be taken away by someone from social services and I'm gonna get sent to live with some horrible people who I don't know! this won't get better! I'VE JUST LOST MY PARENTS!" Bo ended shouting and crying. Lexi just smiled sadly and opened her arms into which Bo collapsed into immediately. "I won't go," she said, her voice muffled my Lexi's sweater, "They can't make me."
