"I love you Maddie" he kissed her forehead
"I love you too, dad" she closed her eyes holding her fathers touch as long as she could
He looked down at her and grabbed her little hand
"How about I read you a bedtime story?" He smiled, running his free hand through his jet black hair,
she nodded walking faster to her room
"...And the princess lived happily ever after" he closed the book and looked at his almost sleeping daughter "goodnight-"
"Daddy?" she looked up at him yawning
"Yes?" he chuckled looking down at her
"Can you have a happily ever after in real life?" she yawned
"You can Mads, you have to make it happen though"
She nodded falling deeper to sleep, he kissed the top of her head
"Goodnight, I love you, Maddie."

"At..." She paused "at 5am" she gave Maddie a look that said 'I win'
"Your not even up at 5am" she challenged pulling her blond hair in a ponytail
"I was today!" she roared stomping her foot
"What's so special about today?"
"I don't need to tell you."
"Ok, clean your own car."
Maddie walked away, Larissa stood there mouth wide open.
As she was preparing breakfast for the house she heard
"Mother!" Loud stomping and "did you hear what that ungrateful brat said to me?"
"No." Their mother said, her voice calm and stern, probably like her face

Her step-mother stepped closer grabbing Maddies arm and turning her so she faced her
