Once upon a time there was a young orange named Paul. Paul lives in the kitchen of Mr. Smith, in the town of Cornville. Mr. Smith did not like oranges, so kept Paul around for company and moral support when it was needed. Which was often. Mr. Smith worked for the government, he often had to write speeches and such and was quite nervous. But back to Paul. Paul the orange enjoyed long walks on the beach, and movie dinner dates with girl oranges. Though he has never met one. Sense.

That afternoon, when Mr. Smith returned home, Paul heard an unfamiliar voice. The voice of a FEMALE!

Paul was scared, but also curious. He wanted to know who Mr. Smith beought home.

"John!" The woman laughed as the two rounded the corner into the kitchen. Mr. Smith was laughing as well. Paul didn't know what was so funny, but he continued to to watch the two.

The two continued to talk and joke around, until Mr. Smith said the three words that ended Paul's life.

"Help your self!"

The woman (Paul had overheard that her name was Janine) nodded and went sraight for the fruit bowl, where Paul was sitting. She examine the entire bowl before choosing her fruit. She reached her hand closer to the bowl and picked up Paul. Paul sctramed, though no soul but the other fruits could hear him.

Janine started peeling off his skin, causing Paul pain that now imaginable words could explain. After a few minutes it was hopeless. Paul was dead.

The other fruits were sobbing uncontrollably. Mr. Smith hadn't even blinked. He was too absored in the woman eating Paul, instead of Paul himself.

The next day, Mr. Smith realized his mistake, tears welling up in his eyes.

Beside Mr. Smith sat Paul, as a ghost, trying to comfort the man. Mr. Smith was devastated, his best friend was dead.
