"Come on, let's get a move on!" You shouted at your friends downstairs, heaving the bulky cardboard box labelled 'KITCHEN' on it in permanent marker. You wavered from side to side heaving the box up the flight of stairs to your new apartment. This is it. A new start, fresh, clean slate, in a new city, and with your favourite 7 people in the world.
This is the life.
Finally, you reached your half-furnished apartment, bending down and dropping the heavy box with a sigh on your bed. You stood back upright, cracking your back and neck from the tension building up from carrying all of your possessions upstairs, heavily relieved from the 'crack' sound that emitted from your aching joints. You huffed, exhausted from carrying the boxes all day, and it's only 12 pm.
This is going, great, isn't it?
Your mood lightened when you heard the uneven creaks of the steps nearby, turning around to slowly see your best friend, Jimin, puffing as he carried a stack of small boxes that were on the verge of toppling over onto the floor.
"Squirrel!" (A/N: That's her nickname for him, and he also has one for her ;) ) you called out, rushing to him, clumsily avoiding all of the packing boxes littered on the floor. You sprinted to him and caught the 2 boxes that were about to fall and took them from him, smiling. "Oh, what would I do without you.." Jimin said warmly to you, grinning lovingly. He leaned in to kiss your forehead, but the distance between you was filled with boxes, and when he got too close, one of his went toppling down, though you caught it. You scoffed half-heartedly, slowly rising back up from your bent position and looked at him with a smirk. "I'm actually not sure, you're so clumsy. Honestly, how would you survive?"
You chuckled as you both turned to your room and carefully stepped over the mess on the floor, Jimin behind you, carrying the slippery packing with you. You parted to place the boxes on your respective beds, his parallel from yours at the middle-back of the room, whilst yours was at the top- left. You both plopped the devilish boxes down and sat down on your beds, making a light creaking noise emanate from them. You tiredly sighed, looking up at Jimin. How did you meet such an amazing human being?
*** Flashback 5 1/2 years ago ***
You were applying your favourite lipstick when your friend Jasmine called out your name, "(Y/N)! Hurry up, we only have 10 more minutes before we have to leave!".
You, Jasmine, and three of your other girl friends in your sorority were going out to a college party, and you were last to be ready. "Coming! Just give me a sec!" You shouted out to her, peeking your head around the doorframe of the trashed bathroom of your dorm. Whipping your head back around to the mirror you were in front of, you quickly finished putting on your makeup and collected your denim jacket that was thrown onto the floor earlier on.
"I'm coming, wait up!" You yelled out to your friends who were collecting their clutches and possessions down the hall from you. Jasmine turned around from the front door to face you, "Finally you're ready, you took like 2 hours." she laughed and in turn, you did too as you and your squad left the enormous sorority house you called home. Emily, one of your closest friends, walked in front of you all and hailed a taxi for you all. You all lived in Seoul as foreigners, so getting a taxi at this time of night on a weekend wasn't a big problem.
All of a sudden, a decent-sized, bright orange taxi came to a screeching halt in front of you, and an old man, approximately 60 years old, peeked his head out of the taxi with a big grin. "You called?" he exclaimed to you with a cocky tone, and you all laughed along with him as you crouched over to get into the taxi.
